I'm now split between three WWG projects! This one I thought I would take a little more slowly, even though it's minor. I'm going to show, day by day, one of my planned Kitbashes for the Deadfall: Building Essentials set.

I'm going to start with the General Store building build at a 3" x 6" floor. (The floor is actually from the Streets of Blood set, but I wanted to save ink and I'm not making a new floor for this particular bash.) The goal will to be have two new pages for this bash - one for a new front, and one for some internal props.

Thursday: This is actually my first 'full' TLX build. I've learned that I hate anchors and posts, but also that they're very neccessary evils and their use actually makes for a surprisingly solid and substantial build, even with this few of pieces. I definately need more build practice, but this didn't come out too badly. This is going to be my 'base' for the bash.

Glad to see someone building this already. Don't forget to edge (you won't regret it).

Edging will likely come with the final build.. and when I buy some markers that won't bleed all through the cardstock.

At any rate, this update isn't part of the kitbash I was going to do per se but more of an interim step...

Friday Morning. I did the artwork on this yesterday morning (well, some careful cut-pasting with some pixel trim) and then got swamped with some other real life (TM) stuff. Anyway, this just adds windows to the General Store front and a 'door flap'. Since the door is on nearly an empty page, and the General Store front takes up a full page, I'm not quite thinking this is a good submission in and of itself...

Friday Afternoon - Okay, this one's obviously late, but I wanted to list my original schedule and see if I can't manage some way to get back to it today. This is the next step of this kitbash, which is a blank 3" x 2-story wall for narrow-store facades. Though this piece technically works and I'll be keeping it aside, it's actually a little too tall for what I was going for.

Saturday Morning - This is probably the piece that most people are going to want. I've done the new false front with saloon doors. These were sampled from a really nice photograph of real set, then scaled, cleaned up, and mirrored to make the doors. Unfortunately I tried to cut these before these were fully dry, which munged the doors a little bit. Still came out pretty nice.

Note: Pegucci's Den is a Wild Arms reference - it's the name of the secret arena in the game. Here, I'm using it as the name of a 'Gentleman's Pharo Parlor'.

Saturday Afternoon - And here it is, the last custom piece for this bash. These are luxery Faro tables circa 1886. I started with the regular Deadfall tables, added the Shellendrak desktop for the green felt look, then sampled, corrected, resized, and photoshopped in a Faro Table, Counter, deck of cards, and copper on each table.

This was probably the most 'work' of the set, since there was a lot of image manipulation here. But the results were worth it. Two very nice 'luxury' Faro tables, ready for playing on.

Finishing up the Gentleman's Den (which I'll be skipping due to time constraints) would consist of getting a cabinet, heating stove, and 4x chairs from the main Building Essentials set. I would also reccomend using the curtains from Shellendrak to add a little 'class' to the look of the place.

+1 saloon doors; if we have videogame consoles coming down the pike, why not pharo tables?

Looks good...hopefully you will find time in the future to complete the other areas you referenced.

I just printed this set out on the weekend. Looking forward to building it next week. I have a sequel to a crazy spaghetti western campaign from last summer that I want to run.

Next Tuesday Afternoon: Yep, I said I would get back to this one, and here it is. I made a few more walls so I could try out the Shellendrak curtain props with them. The results are decidedly mixed. They're okay, but don't quite work really. I probably made a mistake by choosing the blue set instead of the pink/red one. The color is just a little too jarring compared to all the other subdued tones. I also played a little with edging, though I had to fight the cat a little for the table, and it shows in a couple of spots.

Those curtains certainly dress the place up!
