I'm in the small town now in northern Arizona the game store is mainly Magic the gathering card players, so out of sheer boredom I joined them, but I have to build something so here it is Magic the gathering player Mat ( more like a world) mainly used the garden, artwork, but borrowed from a few other sets.

I'm most impressed with the waterfall a combination of printed paper and hot glue with a little dry brushing, Best waterfall and made yet out of paper. so here it is would love your comments and feedback.

I'd love to get more information on how you made the cover. Fantastic job all around, but I'd love to learn how to build a book cover like that!!

Okay the book cover .

First I got some pink foam leftover from another job glued to a piece of Masonite the size of the book , in this case the size of the book was the playing field for laying out magic cards. Then I cut another piece of Masonite to match for the top cover and glued to it pink foam for the front end of the book . So the bottom piece has the sides and the back , the top piece has the front of the book where the pages are.

I then went to the material store and found a material that looked like leather using spray piece of I glued the material to both pieces of Masonite then folded over the edge so that the cover goes in a half an inch on the inside cover.

I then went to a craft store and found some clasps they came with bolts but because of the way I built it there was no room for drilling through the wood so I glued the clasps down and then used hot glue to make the bolt heads painted with a bronze craft paint to look like metal That the clasp was attached to. I then used some scrap leather material to make the straps, using a blue and green craft paint to make them a different color, sponging back and forth on the leather gave it that look. . Because the clasp would not hold by it self I had put a piece of metal under the material . And glued magnets to the bottom side of the strap so the magnets stick to the metal and hold the clasps in place.

I then went to the dollar store and found a round picture frame for the Yin Yang green/blue image that I made from downloading some magic gathering pictures and putting them into Photoshop it with a Yin Yang symbol. I remove the backing of the picture frame and took out the glass and mounted it on the front of the book cover painting the frame to match the straps.

Lastly I made a another scrap of material that I sponged on blue and green paint using Velcro's along the backside of the book so that the cover could be separated from the playing field.

I've also done laptop computers to make him look like ancient books, and many of my RPG and games are mounted in a book.

You should post WIP pics next time you do a DIY project.

OK I think I followed you. The look is incredible. If I could do this with some of my hardcover RPG books....
