I'm half-way through (ok, maybe a third of the way through) a Maiden build, so this will have to wait for me

Yeah, these will be coming a little later for me as well, need to redo Beefy Chef today for submission, then finish the second mall board before donating it to Gamer's Haven, then finish Pegucci's... and THEN I'll get some of this built.

Should be able to put together a ramshackle boomtown pretty quickly.

anyone can point me to anywhere for some of the roofs on this baby? cos this thing got me puzzled from time to time. especialle a corner roof thingie, roof ends etc, got no idea how to use them

I'll take a stab at it. I might be wrong, but I might be right, too

For roof ends, (for example, "6 Inch Roof Ends.pdf") there are two wall texture pieces, and two roof texture pieces. Take one wall piece, and cut it out. Take one roof piece and cut it out. Now, slot the roof piece into the wall piece. Notice the wall piece has a tab that hangs down with a slightly different texture on it. You're gonna (I think) rest this who assembled roof end piece on a regular 6" roof - one that doesn't extend over the sides of the building. That tab that hangs down will slip behind the wall, holding the whole thing in place.

Take a look at the Undertaker's building from the promo pic:


For the corner roofs, I'll refer to "6 Inch Roofs.pdf" pages 5 and 6. Cut out one of each and join them together using the large tabs of the piece on page 5. Take note that is a reverse score on one of those tabs! That's the key to making this thing take a corner. The inside corner will bend inward, and the outside corner will bend outward.

Back in the promo pic, there's a 3" building that demonstrates the assembled roof.

The back of what? The more precise the question, the better chance I have of not answering something you didn't ask... I'll try making up an answer for both pieces, and hopefully I'll catch what you're looking for.

The roof end? It doesn't hook onto anything - it'll either rest on the roof, or if you're doing a permanent structure, you can glue the top in place. I messed up my first batch of roofs trying to make them thicker, and all it did was warp the pieces, which made these roof ends not sit well. I made another batch of roofs and took care to keep em nice and flat, and it worked out pretty well for me.

The corner roof? It doesn't hook onto anything. One corner slots into the roof peaks, and the other should rest on the corner of the building. If it's popping up on you, try fiddling a little with the walls. There's hopefully a sweet spot that'll have it resting in place nicely.

I'm at work right now, otherwise I'd post a picture or two, as I'm sure that would be clearer. As it is, words are the best I can do.

just had an epiphany and got it! the corner works with 2 pointy walls next to each other instead of opposed from eachother. one mystery solved

6"roof ends. the wall pieces to give walls a point i guess, but what are the rooftiled ones for?

or are those the lookouts on top of the roofs? cos them having no window throw me off

The roof ends are designed to sit in the middle of a regular roof section (not an extended roof, the kind with the overhang). See the building with the Undertaker sign in the bottom right corner of the promo pic posted above?

Each consists of a peaked wall segment and a roof segment (both on the same page). You assemble them as you would any other roof and peak. That's it. They don't actually attach to anything, you just sort of drop them onto the roof and tuck the wedge along the bottom into the space between the darkened tab on the end of the roof segment and the lip of the wall.

Make sense? If you're still confused, refer to page 10 of the instructions.

yep got that one. makign mine permanent for gaming nights in the club, seeing as they are not designed specificly for permanent build some gluetabs are missing. can easely cut them in if i want to
but loving the kit so far, trying to knock out a simple table full for out malifaux tournament this sunday.
