Bones....?

4:30pm: *THUD* on front porch - SQUEEE! It's here. Actually took pics of box *before* touching it! [Will post later.]

Good New / Bad News:

Good:
- Bunches of stuff!
- Kaladrax and Cthulhu came in their own retail shelf display boxes.
- Kaladrax's tail (2 long sections plus tip) is 2 feet long!

Bad:
- My Cthulhu was missing his head! Guess Customer Service is getting a note... but not before going through *everything* to make sure there are no other issues. I can handle 'unbending' - thank you guys for the tips!

Anyone going to throw down the Gauntlet to see who can get their brandy-new collection painted first? Hint: I'll lose.

just had a random thought.... I may have gotten an extra figure.

The little mister bones guy, is he included inside the vampire box to those that have gotten theirs or was he separate? I had one floating around in the shipping box, I haven'y cracked my vampire box yet, doing that tonight at game meeting.

As to Wrymgear, I am glad I got him as the price he is earmarked at would be something i don't want to pay for him, but my other sophie swap was a for another grouping that was concept art, not 100% happy with how they came out..

kind of wish i went with the other group i was thinking about, after seeing them last week in the other guys purchase i liked them better than what i bought...

"All Pledge Levels that are receiving a Bones or Case shipment will also receive One "Mister Bones" Bones miniature with their shipment, as our way of saying "Thank You!" "

MY BONES ARRIVED TODAY!!!

Everything has been dry-fitted and inventoried. I have an extra set of four Nova guys and am short a couple of other figures. All-in-all not too bad of an accuracy in my opinion.

Yeeaahh! Cool pics, seeing the size of that Cthulu figure makes me regret not pledging for one. I read on the Reaper forums that Bones don't actually need priming so I started working on a couple of Goblins, the plastic feels a bit odd to paint on directly, but it is possible. I think I'll prime the next ones I work on though.

Yeah... at some point I need to get a Cthulhu - I will likely use him for a Star Spawn of Great Cthulhu.... (The model is big... but Cthulhu is HUGE. A mountain walked or stumbled.)

I can't believe it, I started unbagging them last night at our regular game night and finished them up today and Reaper Screwed up my order!!!! :ymsick:

I got a double of one of the bags, and near as I can tell I am missing the one that has the Dungeon attack in it as I don't see any of those miniatures.
I got two of the bags that have the "eye tyrant", the blacksmith, and bedeviled to name a few, anyone know what else was in the "dungeon attack" bag?.

I painted directly onto the bare Bones and, while possible, I recommend primer. Thinned paints and metallics don't work well on the bare plastics. My test subjects;

I must admit to being somewhat envious of those who have received their Bones already. But when mine arrives... Oh, how sweet it will be!
At least I get to play with a Wyrmgear as a commission for someone in one of my gaming groups (protip - paint the wings before gluing them to the rest of the fig - they are a pain to paint after assembling).

my gaming group received our box of Bones last week. We are SO looking forward to painting them. The two biggest painters used to use Vallejo paints. I have started to try P3 and he started to try Reaper. I'm not sold on the P3. He says the Reaper paints are awesome. Unfortunately they don't sell them locally.

Anyone have experience with P3 and Reaper?

Reaper is my second favorite brand but also my most used choice for paints.

I like Vallejo just a tiny bit better, but Reaper paints are excellent. (If I were to describe the reason that I prefer Vallejo.... I might be forced to admit that it just smells nicer....

)

I have a lot of Reaper paints.

If I am painting a large model then I will often base with a big ol' bottle of Americana craft paint. Not as good, but cheap, and covers the large areas pretty well.

P3... I have four bottles - one almost empty because it is a very nice brass... the others nearly full and likely to stay so. Too thick and galmy. Though I think that they may have changed formulas since then - these were from their very first releases.

My order of Bones has shipped! 14.8 pounds of PVC joy!
