HeroQuest just got hit with an IP dispute - don't know from who yet. Their KS is down.

And, sure enough - neither Hasbro nor GW, it is Moon Design (Greg Stafford).

Moon Design picked up when Issaries was... uhm, well... pretty much across the board a failure. Both belong to Greg Stafford. (The high point for Glorantha was RuneQuest 2nd edition, in the eighties. HeroQuest was (and is) the nadir. I love the world - but the rules for the HeroQuest system sucks.)

It is a Trademark issue, not a copyright issue - and I suspect that it will not last long.

The C&D has already been suspended.

The Battle Systems sci-fi modular terrain kickstarter ended up getting just shy of £220k (it was over that, but someone dropped out in the last seconds).

The goal was £21k. A comment from Battle Systems said they hoped for £70k at most. They were working flat out costing and putting together add ons right up to the end. An end that brought on board infested walls - just the thing for my Aliens games.

Wow. From what I am finding, his Heroquest is not that old. So, was HE trying to piggyback of of the boardgame? How the hell does he expect this to hold up? What a jerk...

Actually, Hero Quest is too close to Heroquest and would still not make it through american trademark law - they would have to make it an entirely different name as Stafford could claim that it is still confusing to customers.

Just a few days left in the Kickstarter for Green Ronin's .

The Advanced Bestiary is essentially a book of templates - a very, very good book of templates, and one that Paizo Publishing has used a great deal in the Pathfinder Adventure Paths.

I am in for the PDF - this is a book that I do not bring to the table, preferring to have the critters come as surprises for the PCs.

The 3.5 edition had the extreme misfortune of being handled through Osseum Entertainment - which went... bug-nuts-crazy-bankrupt. (Seriously - look it up, when the D20 bust happened the owner and operator of Osseum fled the city....) Green Ronin never saw the money.

Well I am now anxiously waiting for Brew Crafters to show up (I know, it wont be until mid 2014, I'm just excited).

Watching the Betrayal at House on the Hill thread has got me thinking about making custom 3D brewery boards, using scaled down WWG files. That would be awesome. I'll need a warehouse, shelving, vats, barrels, a truck, office/labs, farm, and brewpub.

I was going to resist, but then I realized that resistance is futile. Just PDF though.

Well, since WWG is no longer producing PDF sets (or anything else for that matter), I've found these folks to fill in the gap:

FDG makes some great stuff, and this kickstarter offers up a LOT of content for your pledge.

Mod note: While WWG has not been releasing content, this still competes directly with existing content. Please refrain from linking.

Opinions will vary, but I personally struggle with the idea of giving Fat Dragon Games any of my money. Too many of their textures and geometry are more than just inspired by WWG. I find that the only times I have contemplated a purchase, it has been for something unique. I wish that I could say that I came across that situation more often.
