Hello!

Im new to wormhole and i didnt play yet. I read the rulebook and the statcards very often and im a little bit confused about the Hastati frigate.

The statcards say it has 2 moveorders, but the TOS has only 1 switch.
So, is the TOS wrong or the statcard? I think its the card because the Hastati is a very powerfull ship for its small price.

My first 75p fleet will consist of
2 Frigates (1 Missile+extrasalvo, 1 Plasma)
2 Interceptors

I already built 2 advanced frigates, its very hard but its rewarding, and 1 interceptor. Do you think this is a good starting fleet or would be 1 missilefighter instead of interceptor be better?
My enemy is building a sathricarian fleet (i built 1 frigate as he built 4 vessels ). Do you have any hints for further fleetconstruction?

The map: i have a friend who is garphicsdesigner, he can print the homeworld on a truckcanvas (dont know the english word) in one piece for only 50€ (70$), ill ask him to give me the modified file, so i can gift it as a kitbash?

Where does it say on the stat cards that it has 2 move orders? I can't find that on mine.

I guess it depends on whether you think they need two moves - if so, I would photoshop on another move switch (either cutting and pasting the switches from a ship that has two moves, or just cutting and pasting a move switch to fill the blank middle spot on the Hastati TOS). Or, if you are old-school, printing and gluing on another switch instead...

Thanks for posting this, it reminded me that I bought Wormhole and the Verus Fleet but haven't assembled or played them yet (I bought them for a 2014 project).

if you look at the statcard.pdf there you will find the 3 Hastativariants with
Spd 6"-3"
Mov 2-1-0
ATK 1-1-0
Ini 3
Arm M
Def 5+
Cc 3

So at normal status it has 2 move orders, at damaged 1 and crippled 0
But the TOS has only 1 switch for movement.

But we are a little bit dissapointed. This game was released in 2008 and 2011 and there are still so much errors in the rules and printings. You have to read through the forums if you want clarification for the rules. An errata or clarfications in the downloadfiles would be nice or corrected pdfs.

And i already recolored some ADP for my Verusfleet.

So...nobody knows if the hastati is supposed to have 1 or 2 moveorders? We play with 1 atm and it feels hard, because all other ships of that class have vel 8 (particlebow) or 2 move orders (corvette)
Last game my enemy just spammed particlebows and my fleet is just to slow to go in meleerange.

If I recall correctly, Hastati get two move orders. It has been a couple of years since I have played Wormhole, but that is my recollection.

So I made a new TOS for the Hastati with 2 move orders. Can i post them here or how does it work with this stuff? I think other ppl could also use it.

Hopefully this one can use the existing instructions for the set which will make the official kitbash process faster.

OK, I have actually researched this and looked through the playtest materials etc... the hastati Frigates do indeed have 2 move orders on the stat cards throughout the various playtest iterations, and the TOS has only ever shown one. I have gone through the (now locked) playtest forum looking for any references to this discrepency.

As near as I can tell, the Hastati should have two move orders just like some squadrons and the Control Corvette. When we release the kitbash, it will have some verbage regarding this, but also that this is a strictly unofficial interpretation.

Darn you to heck for making me miss Wormhole all over again!

We also did some playtesting. Without the second move order it is imbossible to kill this damn particlebows. With only one moveorder you receive 16 attackrolls, before you are in range and then the particlebow has still the better armour.

Any tips against the particlebows? Is should try to spam missilefirgates maybe...

Yes, swarms of incoming missiles and fighters can ruin a squadron of Particlebows... I found that the Sathrican fleet usually had to deal with 15 missile salvoes before they could engage the Verus ships.

Yes, your interpretation is correct, the Frigates are supposed to have Move 2, the cards are correct, and the TOS is missing a switch.
