I've been looking for a model of a ship to use in a game for YEARS.

I just purchase the Maiden and I'm anxiously awaiting my e-mail directions for where to download it. To pass the time I watched all the tutorials. They looked so fantastic I really wanted to ask you all about the printing after purchase.

I just got my Epson Photo RX500 hooked up. I bought it last year but have printed maybe 3 pages since (its been in storage for most of that time).

My roomate was selling his motorcycle so we printed out an advertisement. He used way too dark colors and way to much ink - but this revealed lines down the paper about every quarter inch. On these lines the ink is lighter and it gives the picture a pin-stripe look.

So my questions are:

1) Are the models shown on the worldworks website printed on some super duper printer for artists? If yes, can I get this done for me at Kinkos or something, or will that violate copywright?

2) Are they printed on normal 100# cardstock or something better? If yes, what is it called so I can buy some.

3) What should I set my printer up for to get the best results. I looked at the FAQ which mostly talks about not changing the size.

4) How many times can I print out the Maiden at your recommendation before my ink cartridge needs to be replaced?

I had that same printing problem with an epson printer a long time ago. It really irritated me. Not sure how to fix it though.

I'm not sure what Denny uses, but if your printer is fairly new and decent, it should be more than adequate. My printer is a HP deskjet 5550 (a fairy cheap printer now), and it works great.

Standard use is 110lb paper. I got mine from office depot for about $9 for 250 sheets.

Most likely, all you need to do is set what quality you want (normal or photo/best) and make sure that the "resize to fit page" option isn't checked otherwise the scale of the piece gets messed up.

I honestly wouldn't know about the ink. I would think it depends on the printer and the quality at which you're printing. If you notice the color start to dull a bit, it's time for a new cartridge.

m0nk3yb0y had some good answers. I'll try to add to them.

Pretty much everyone on the forum uses an inexpensive ink jet to print with, and we've all been happy with the results. If you're having banding issues, and can't adjust the ink usage to fix it, I'd suggest another printer.

If you feel the need to pay through the nose for Kinkos, as long as you print for personal use only, there shouldn't be a legal issue.

The recommended is 110 lb cardstock, especially for the Maiden, which needs the structural stability.

Lastly, ink usage drastically changes from printer to printer, and cart to cart. Your mileage will vary, but I'd say you should be able to get a couple Maidens from a cart.
