Ah, no harm done if it's not in there.  It won't be the first WorldWorks item I've done my own extensive modification to.  Having the bridge itself is a big boon.  

I can also seem them (the bridges) coming in very handy for connecting 2nd-storey levels of VillageWorks buildings.

This set looks really great. Can't wait to get it (although, after "Gothic Realms", I'm out of cardstock & need moreink for my printer)! Looks as if Denny chose wisely in adding to the Worldworks staff. I have a farigrounds/racetrack/arena area in my campaign that I haven't used yet, now I know I'll have to start writing an adventure for that setting! Hope your stay at WWG is a long & happy one!

Well I called "moosehead" and asked him about this. He is really not a happy camper. He thought he was gonna be the "official" mascot and now it seems that, quite possibly, half the business will be sent to a new mascot. I mean, how will he feed his little hornies? This is just horrible. As I hung up with him he was mumblin' something about retribution, something about his sharp blade and the paper models..... hmmmm...

This does not bode well at all....

I think I just accidently sold someone on the Arena set. He mentioned that it looked very much like something for Final Fantasy Tactics, then I mentioned that someone had done some D20 rules for the same....

A suggestion for future stair projects, since it came up here.

There is a recent article on The Last Alliance, a site supporting Games Workshop's Lord of the Rings miniatures game, which shows an idea about stairs.  He makes them look like regular steps, but every third step is a bit deeper.  Minis can sit diagonally on the stairs, supported by the deeper step.  He does say metal miniatures are more likely to tip, but an adjustment to the steepness might help.

Of course, lots of steps are harder to fold, so this may not be that useful to paper-modeling.  But I did think it was a nice addition to the ways this could be done.

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP  WHN (Worldworks Headline News) MASCOT WARS....

Now to our Mascot Wars (said with echo on) correspondent Mr. G. Grimm.

I have more surprising news on the Mascot Wars. It seems that mysteriously, all other potential mascots are disappearing. I called Freddy Fingers the thief mascot and his response was "I ain't afraid of no bleedin' barbarian he can kiss my royal...." then the line went dead. All further attempts to reach him have failed. I called Suzy Sorcerer and asked her opinion "Barbarians are nothing but the scourge of the earth.That's to say nothing of Barbarians with, how shall I say this, over-compensated helmets.... hmmm.. They should be removed from existence anyway. I have a few spells to try...." An explosion was heard in the background and again the line went dead..........

........WAIT....this just in.  It would seem that there was an unusual find at the scene of the explosion.... A Large horned helmet. One member of the guard was heard to say "How does he get through doorways with this thing on?" upon which another guard stated "Doh! <slapping of, presumeably, the first guard> Sideways!!!"

I just did my own experiment with folded paper stairs, and came up with a method that seems to work. A length of wood paterned paper going out 2/5 of an inch, folded in 1/5 of an inch, folded down 1/5 of an inch with tabs on both of the 1/5 inch sections to hold the stair in place, repeated as necessary. The result is halfway between an open stair and a closed one, with depressions 1/5 of an inch under each stair. I used this while creating some model ships for a hack and slash, and used Dungeon Crafter to both create the stairs and add the wood pattern.The tabs double as jigs for positioning the stairs, though I will admit it can be bit fiddly. Deeper and/or wider stairs are of course possible, I just added 1 inch wide landings every 5 or 10 stairs or so for positioning figures.

Interesting take on stairs, thanks for the article. My stairs are mostly designed to be easy, sturdy and especially quick to build.

When I finally push ArenaWorks out the door, I will have a much needed rest..then it will be time to select a mascot! I'll shoot pics of my figures and we'll decide...How's that?

Works for me!  That is assuming they survive the wrath of Moosehead.... ;D ;D ;D

Sounds like a plan.....  Just keep looking over your shoulder... You never know when Horny will appear and wreak havoc on the other Mascots.

P.S. As a side note..... You may want to include a cardboard version of Horny (Moosehead) in each release as a way to add his touch to each release and hopefully appease him.

So, 81 separate items--how many pages of print-outs wiill that be?

Please dont make us use our brains to break that fraction down Im certain its not 81 pages, closer to 40 pages Im guessing (some props and items share the same page). Paul, I'll leave you with the final say.

Really though you cant break it down that way as it simply depends on what elements you need to print for the task at hand. As with all WorldWorks model sets its not a matter of how many pages need printing but of having a ton of options. No ones expecting you to print every page and waste ink if you dont need to.
