I've been planning to turn my spare room into a mini-office/study and i was looking for desks and tables for both my PC and for my model building.

low and behold the wonders of the internet presented me with the mother of all hobby tables...

then the realism sunk in as i tried desperately to find a UK retailer that stocks this thing. so far i have had no luck

Its looking like ill be emailing a few US retailers in the hope that they will ship to the UK for a resonable price.

That's a nice looking desk/table! Shame I don't have the room for it in my office with all the other furniture I have in there!

That table looks awesome, and I might grab one when I move soon enough. I currently use and it works quite well. Tons of space for all of my paints, brushes, models, Hirst Arts blocks, and other modeling supplies. I have my area set up as a little cove, with that desk to the right of me, and a L-Shape glass desk with my computers and other stuffs in front and to the left of me. It's no wonder I don't leave me room much.

Heh, some days I miss my very first hobby table, back in the late seventies - an interior hollow core door laid across the top of two two-drawer filing cabinets, with the cord of the task lamp running out through the hole for the doorknob. Sometimes there were shelves on the back of it, and sometimes there weren't. A roll up sheet of cloth backed vinyl served as a cutting surface when I needed one, rolled up and stuck behind the table when I didn't. Not the best table, but cheap, easily repaired, and loaded down with fond memories. that was the same year that I first played D&D.

Grump, I have to completely agree... Interior door slabs make wonderful work/storage surfaces. Our studio last year actually hit up my work (Orange Big-box) for some marked-down damaged ones to lay across the top of the studio storage cabinets. Presto!!! instant model storage space...
