You can read all about the development of MiniChunk . It's almost done (just finishing up the instructions), but I'm in the middle of a move, so you're definitely better off starting with Gothic Realms if you need a dungeon setting right away.

Speaking of bottomless pits, I'd love one just for my terrain!

Hey, welcome to the forums. Personally, I'd buy the Dungeon/Castle combo, actually, I already have! I had the Dungeon set already, but Castle wasnt' available when I bought Dungeon, so I bought it again.

Good news, I've got a friend that's interested in paper models, so I've got Dungeon to give him as a Christmas present now!

I'd wait for Mini Chunk if I were you. That is, unless you just want to buy the full scale one. I've got it also, but am not really using it because of the scale. Course, I'm kitbashing a proper scale on my own, so...

Don't worry about asking questions, we're friendly here and full of advice that we're happy to share.

Yes, foam board is really great to use. I'd use it even if you are not going to do a masterboard as it gives the pieces that extra bit of stability.

Some of the other forum members use mounting board in their models. Attaching the mounting board behind the walls. As a more sturdy table top, etc. Look through the posted photos and you'll see what I'm talking about.

By the way Pagan, if I haven't done it yet, welcome to the boards! Being an over 40 member of the forums, my hard drive space is packed pretty full, so data gets overwritten, so I can't always recall when I've done things, like say hello to a new member!

I'll do a search for mounting board and add the link to the thread here if I find it as I'm pretty sure we've discussed it before.

What color of foam board do you guys usually buy? I bought white and simply darkened the sides with a black marker. I think it looks pretty good. There are a few spots in the foam that sink in a little too deep on the sides so I have some small white spots.

Wal-Mart had black and orange foamcore on sale really cheap around Halloween time, about $1.25 per sheet! Picked up quite a bit at the time! Black that is!

But I'd suggest using black foamcore. I've tried white, but the black just works so much better imo.

Now if I only can get the time to actually work on models again!
