110 lb paper safe for printers? Staples says no.

Not that I'm knocking the guys at Staples, but I wonder what they're qualifications are as far as recommending paper for printers. I personally haven't done any research myself further than printing on my printer and haven't asked any professionals that I'd trust, but so far, my printer is handling the 110 lb just fine.

A friend of mine who has a $50 inkjet printer also has no trouble switching back and forth.

What I would suggest if you are unsure of the heavier paper, check with the company that manufactures your printer. They should have documentation that tells you what kinds of paper the printer can print on. If they don't, send them an e-mail asking them about it.

Unless they have really poor customer service, you should get the answers you need and they should be much better qualified to answer those questions than a copy center employee, who works at an office supply department store.

Thanks, everyone, I am printing the plasterhouse, it is so cute! I couldn't wait to order other paper so I just got what they had on stock at Staples. Plenty of time to try others, and I certainly will follow up on your suggestions, Denny.

Again, many thanks for the support as I venture into this new area. I hope to have some builds to post soon, although glue might be an issue. I couldn't find the right glue at Staples, think I'll give the pvc stuff we use for bookmaking a try.
