I didn't realize how tiny this build was. Awesome!

well, here is where my inexperience came into play. I completely messed up my Mayhem Town Hall/Police Station. I might try to fix it but I will more than likely toss it into the fire place. The style of build was a bit different than I had done before and I mis-sized a few things causing some errors.

But here are a few shots of it anyway,
I like the design of it with the internal parking garage and steps leading up to the second floor, the one side is the administrative section with offices, and the other is the police area with jail. Overall good idea, bad execution







the front steps are missing, as are all the internal windows, but I have to decide on if I am going to keep it or not.

If you don't like it, you could always make it into a ruined building.

That is just nuts you assembling so many interior pieces (ie. Cabinets, Tables(w/seperate legs ) and all the other bits. Quite amazing really. You have more patience in your little finger than I do in my whole being.

BTW the morgue area in the trauma center (with the metal door askew and table sticking out) is perfect for your ZOMBIE setting. Now...where's all the blood splatters and trails from corpses being drug off or consumed?

All of this is quite impressive really!

Yes, I also like the morgue. It is my favorite piece so far and failry easy to make. I felt I had to have an open drawer to give the "effect".


Granted it isnt me, its the WWG team. They did a great job making the pieces the way they did. Yes, I have to do some slight modifications, to make them finger friendly but over all it is pretty easy. You noticed the individual legs, huh? I even did the individual legs on my micro armory build as well.

I wanted to add in some more interior details, but I have to make sure hte peices are playable as well. In the future, I will probably go back to each piece and add more detail to them. I am anxious to "bulk" out the city for now.

There will be a bit of a delay in some building though. Iam runnign low on black ink and I have to drive off the mountain to get some. could be a few days, perhaps over the weekend I will start bulking out he city. I should be able to get two generic boards done in an evening, so I should have 4x6 board done in two weeks.

I started designing the Mayhem Mall last night. should be interesting. I jsut wish I was able to do some of the extra work you guys can, to make some of the pieces I want. I'm still limited by my lack of knowledge of the programs to modify things. I have an idea or two of what to try with what I have as an exisitng package, so hoepfully it will work.

I am contemplating starting the city out fresh, but then everytime a zombie or character dies, adding in a blood spatter. that way as the campaign/game progreses the city gets worse and worse looking. perhaps even doing a blood platter for humans and a pile of "goo" for zombies

It occured to me last night after I had shut down my computer that 1/3 of the normal scale was about the size I needed for my CarWars bash. I had reduced it to 50% normal scale, and it looks good, but still is to big. Then while I was getting ready for bed, I remembered that when Steve Jackson made his most recent version, which uses Matchbox sized cars, he was using a 3 inch scale, not a 1 inch scale. So duh, that means I need to reduce it 33% instead of 50%.

By reading about your zombie build, it sounds like it's in the same scale! Course the 50% build should fit the MicroMachines conversion I did a number of years ago, which is a 1 1/2 inch scale so...

I did scale 4 walls of the apartment building just as a test and need to go ahead and assemble it to see how it looks. By the way, the larger blocks do look alot better, so I know I'll need to do the same thing with my build. I think I'm going to try and incorporate a links system with full sized blocks, not sure what the size will end up being, but once I've got the number of tiles down, then I'll know, probably be somewhere between 4 and 8 inches.

What I was thinking abot doing was just putting the blood spatter down, but your concept of the "replacement" building got me thinking. instead of replacing the building, why not make a sleeve that can fit over the outside of the building. increase the size just a hair, and the ruined version will fit on the outside. thats a thought.

as far as the splatter goes, I am going to experiment with post-it notes for the goo and such. that way I can put them down and then when the game restarts, just pull them off.

if you missed it, all I did was print to fit on a 3x5 index card, so it isnt an exact scaling. Granted you guys are so much better than this at me so I am sure you can scale it properly, but you are right that it does work out to be around 33%

as far as a large building, I am contempleting making the mall into two tiles that join in the center. that way the mall can actually be a stand alone piece for gaming as well, considering it will be 1 foot by 2 feet. and at 10mm scale that is roughly a full table. with plenty of gaming space.

also what I do for the main board is use a self stick vinyl floor tile. I cut out all the peices of road and grass, and then stick them to the tile. then trim the vinyl to size. works like a charm.

I'd love to see where you go with the smaller builds, perhaps even get some pointers from you to make mine better.

i love this idea+plus making the desks and stuff sooooo small shows great skill, i just printed a road section at this size, it's kinda cute

I actualy saw post it note paper that was white and 8.5 x 11. I think it was at walmart. Next time down there I will have to look again. I was thinking of printing it on that paper and then spraying a gloss finish on top to get the desired "gleem" of blood

But you just gave me a thought. what about printing the images on gloss photo paper and then using the post-it note glue on the back of that. I've never printed on that paper so I am not sure of the desired effect would come out right. any thoughts?

and from a gaming persepective, perhaps it might be interesting to actually have the goo markers as a morale perk or drawback. if your in a square with alot of human blood your morale goes down, but if you are in a square with a lot of zombie parts, your morale goes up. something I'll have to think about.

I am using figures made my Pendraken out of the UK. I am not sure if any of the stockists in the US carry the sci-fi and fantasy line.

I am using the FU16 for the zombies. They look great as they are in generic clothing. and with a few nips and cuts they are easy to modify, but once I post images of the hordes it isnt even needed.

for the civilians I am using the civilians from their sci fi range range. There are no images on the site but it is SF20 and 21 one pack is male and the other is female. They are also in generic clothing, some with a baseball cap on, so they fit right in with a "modern" time frame.

I am also using some US infantry from their modern for regular troops. Just for a bit of fire power.

As my figures are not done yet, primed, partial paint etc.. I dont want to post a picture. Once they are done I will though. Just imagine a zombie games with hundreds of zombies....... and 6 to 8 characters....

for anyone how wants to try stuff at this scale, print the pages at 38%, then it'll match up with this

rogue, how big are the tiles when you print at 38% ?

I cannot get my reader to print anything smaller than 50%, so thats why I use the print to fit option.

I do wonder what happen to this 10mm build, I mean how would it look now will all the new Mayhem sets?
