I absolutely love WorldWorks products, and especially Urban Mayhem, but one of the things that bothers me about paper terrain is that because it is so light it gets knocked around on the game table easily. So I just had an idea. I searched on here for a little bit to see if it had been brought up, but the closest thing was pertaining to a Chunky Dungeons masterboard I believe.

With so many small scenery bits like street lights, signs, mailboxes, etc for Urban Mayhem getting them to stay with out gluing them is nigh impossible. So, I got the idea to put a layer of magnetic sheet just between the printed paper and the foam board, then a small magnet on the bottom of the bits and voila, placeable sturdy scenery.

I haven't actually put this into practice yet, and I'm still looking online for the most cost effective product to use. There is inkjet printable magnetic sheets, but if I'm going to be using as much as I am (enough for a 7x7 grid) it'd make more sense to buy a roll of it. If anyone knows a good place to get it I'd like to know.

And be careful of the strength of the magnets. You don't want to go and remove that Telephone booth only to find that 1/2 of it was left on the table.

I think there was some magnet discussions before, you may want to do a forums search, because I don't remember mucih of it other than there was some interesting ideas along the lines of what you were thinking.

I have taken to sticking washers on the inside bottom of box pieces to weigh them down (the bits of mayhem vending machines for example). I find that they are sufficiently heavy to keep them from moving too much. Wish I had thought of it sooner....

I looked at the link you gave for litko but the price on theirs is much too expensive for using so much of it. In my original idea I was going to use from DickBlick. They also have the (the ones I found on ebay come in glossy and matte)

Hmmm, may have to check those out. Looking for an inexpensive thing to make all those GW slotta bases magnetic for transport. I use them on allmost everything for my 28mm gaming, and now even the new Flintloque/Slaughterloo figures are being issued with slotta bases. This might work to cut and glue on the bottom of each base. Thanks for sharing.
