WorldWorks is attempting to spread its wings a bit and foster some more targeted exposure by developing relationships with Wizkids and or Wizards of the Coast. I wouldn't normally be so open about this but I have been making attempts to reach out to the aforementioned companies over the past few weeks regarding strategic partnerships. The big roadblock here is getting through to the people at the top of the food chain. Sure you can find a dozen e-mail addresses to customer service but finding useful contacts in charge of product/project development is nay impossible. I'm afraid that my e-mails to these "powerhouse" companies have been falling on deaf ears and are being buried under other trivial mails.

I know how knowledgeable many of you are here so I'm putting an open call out to the WorldWorks community to help me find some key contacts within these two companies. If you have any contact information regarding the project heads or product development teams at Wizkids or WOTC please send me a private message on the board. PLEASE DO NOT POST THIS INFORMATION HERE!

You'll be helping us to gain some much needed attention and hopefully expand the WorldWorks customer base. We understand why key contacts are so difficult to reach but we feel that our products would benefit their licenses in some very obvious ways. They just need to know we exist

Four strategies that come to mind, if email hasn't generated a response yet:

1) Placing a phone call to the company offices. WOTC have a corporate contact number listed on their website and WizKids have their office phone number listed. Bonus points if you have the names beforehand of the people you'd like to leave a message for or speak to. Gotta fight back against those aggressive secretaries.

2) Pimping products on the official company forums. WW Products may generate enough buzz at low spots on the food chain to move upwards and generate interest at the high levels.

3) Visiting the company offices in person. While uninvited, this could be a terrible idea, but you never know... Also, making an appointment via phone or email to discuss a strategic partnership in person could work quite well. Plus, both Wizkids and WOTC are in Washington, are they not?

4) Sending emails to first initial + last name at the various companies dot com. If you can find the names of the people you want to talk to, you can always blind email them! (This one is mostly a joke, btw).

5) Attend cons and industry gatherings where some of these people hang out!

6) EN World has a failry active where some of the smaller publishers tend to hang out. I don't think they get much trafffic from WotC, but some of the people there may be able to give you useful advice or contacts.

Hmmm, it seems like the gang is much more enthusiastic about a WWG/PEGInc collabaration than one with WotC...

Well, that's probably because the best chance is with PEGInc.

WizKids inked a deal last year to make Pirates and Rocketmen terrain with Gale Force 9. Their Pirates stuff came out just before Christmas but no sign of Rocketmen stuff yet.

As to WotC, I've been looking hard at their D&D Minis game and their tournament scene. It doesn't look too promising. Currently, they allow NO modifications to their official maps for tournament purposes. By licensing "Official Terrain", they would be sending a mixed message to their players that they could buy officially licensed terrain but couldn't use it when they play in "Official" tournaments. Of course that doesn't stop us from using it unofficially. It also looks doubtful on the RPG side. Since they started using their OGL, I'm not sure I've seen anything officially licensed by WotC.

PEG is also doing the Rocketmen and Mage Knight rpgs for Wizkids. There may be opportunity there. E-mail Shane or Simon at Pinnacle.

One other possibility is to try and build a connection with Mongoose Publishing. They are really doing well now, and Starship Troopers is selling by the barrel (so to speak). Personally, I don't play it, but it is very good if you like larger wargames. I prefer skirmish games myself, and play Gangs of Mega-City One primarily.

Anyway, I have often suggested that Mongoose could release their own terrain to support their games, beyond the small amount that comes in the box sets (on photo card), but have never managed to convince them. Perhaps a communication direct from you to head honcho, Matthew Sprange, might kick things into gear?

OK, I'm new to this so if someone has already brought up this point sorry to sound like a broken record but....
Urban Mayham looks like it was designed specifically for White-Wolf's World of Darkness line of games. White Wolf also makes many other products such as Engel, Exalted, Sword and Sorrcery (D20 OGL products), and the revised Ravenloft campaign setting (Gothic Realms could make an amazing castle for Straud or Veccna)

Wow...good news all around there. I'm a big fan of Mutant Chronicles via the card game Doom Trooper. I've loved FFs mini war games up to now so I'm all for seeing more from them. And let me say, your friend must be very talented to get a job on a single picture!

I loved MC in its day but now when I look at the figures I shudder to see the blocks of metal. I don't mean to be rude about the scuplt and all but they were just on the clunky chunky side.

It will be interesting how they do the machanics of the game.
