Hello all, I'm new to WWG but an old time gamer I stumbled across this most excellent site (and product) while searching for an older product called DungeonWorks. For the curious, DungeonWorks was a metal board/base where you placed dungeon walls and doors that had magnets on the bottom - kind of like some other stuff you may have seen on the market but utilizing magnets. Anyway, I just downloaded CaveWorks and it looks like all is in order but I have a question for you long-time and compared to me, expert builders.

Do any of you print on full page adhesive labels ( for example: http://www.buyonlinenow.com/viewproduct ... u=AVE08165 ) and then stick it to foamboard? I downloaded a slightly different product a few months ago called DundJinni and while it is good for designing and printing my own floors and scenarios it has no third dimension - unlike WorldWorks. So far I have created quite a few floors (interior and exterior) and they seem to be fine (i.e., no warping or peeling). I’m thinking that combing the two products is gonna make for some neat dioramas.

After reading a few of the threads (glue, printer settings, etc) I would think that even with the slightly higher cost, using foamboard and labels would be an ideal solution for SOME of the WorldWorks products because since there is no glue there should be no water content at all and thus (hopefully) no warping or seperation. Also, the label paper is approximately the same brightness and consistency/grain as normal paper so the colors and designs really come through. I did try the cheaper Staples brand label sheets and unfortunately, saw an obvious degradation in the print quality.

I have not purchased or used 110 grade cardstock so have no comparison for that cost versus label paper PLUS foamboard but I'm always looking to improve my gaming groups experience so a little extra cost is not that big of a deal. So aside from cost, has anybody else tried this and if so, any good or bad experiences? Thanks!

Welcome to the boards, Dunjonmaster! Your suggestion is intriguiging. It would certainly help speed up some of the process. My only reservation would be that the adhesive on the back of the label sheets would bond instantly, meaning if your piece was out of alignment you'd be screwed whereas with glue you have some "wiggle room" owing to the drying time.

This idea was actually suggested to me by Denny and a few others quite awhile back in the thread about my Castles & Keeps build when we were discussing easier ways to mount the printed product on Matboard. I never really looked into it, but have always wanted too, as I feel it would be a viable solution, and get rid of at least one step in the process of my builds. If you do try it out please if you can provide pics. The only reason I didn't look into it at the time was because I had already invested a good deal of money into supplies that I didn't want to go to waste, then, when I did run out of supplies, I ran out of a good paying job and have yet to recover completely. My biggest worry is the separation part. How long will the bond hold, will fingers touching the sticky surface affect the strength of the bond, etc...

Robby and a few others here use Dunjinni as well, and the radio show, episode #8 I think, had Denny reveal that they would be making Dunjinni/WorldWorks compatible sets in the near future.
