So I am now accepting the fact that I will need to scale all walls to 7.5" in length to accomadate the right number of squares, scale up gridless roof and floor pieces to 7.5" and drop my own 1.5" grid over the top.

I can do this and I think I will.

But if WWG really wants a piece of the HeroClix community they should really think about doing this themselves someday. They have this great looking product that simply won't be useable for a standard HeroClix game without major photoshop work on the user end. Maybe that isn't asking too much of the customer when you still have to build the model, but why would the company risk it?

I think it would be profitable for them to spend a couple days to change their master SoM files to match the HeroClix grid alignment and maybe even color code the grid to the HeroClix rules (red borders on the outside edges of buildings, green borders on bushes, etc.) and they might be able to attract a wider audience than masochists like myself.

I have no idea about the inner workings of WWG and perhaps there is a great reason for why they did what they did. It seems to me, judging by the number of HeroClix pieces that show up in their product shots, they think this product works for the game, when in fact it does not. Whether this is an oversight or by design, we may never know.
