Wow, it did not take long at all for the Dragons 3 series to sell out at the local Toys 'R' Us.

One at least looks like an adventure waiting to happen, with the PCs contracted to steal some wyvern eggs from out of the nest...

Megablocks was running a buy one get one free special at Fred Meyer. I picked up the ship and I am extremely impressed with the quality of the toy. Not as cool as the Maiden, but it comes with cloth sales, and it does not have the pegs all over it like the ship.

I can't wait to get the ship.

There has been a lot of talk about McFarlane's dragon series and other figures that are not well articulated for use in your fantasy games but I found a dragon figure that features 20 joints and a vinyl molded metal armature for posing the dragon;s tail and wings. It most likely is out of production now but there may be a few left on E-Bay (~$16).

The series was called the Dragon Masters () and they included a winged fire dragon, a wingless land dragon, and a finned sea dragon. The multiple joints help illustrate to my players exactly what the dragon is doing during combat even though we do not use miniatures that often (I don't have the room at the moment, I know, disgraceful).

Oh, and I learned from the McFarlane toys web site that his Dragons series 4 will be out this summer. The production photos look awesome, including the first two headed dragon of the series

I picked up a couple small LEGO sets yesterday, one Pirates, one Knights Kingdom, because they came with a scimitar and a horse. The useful thing about LEGO figures is that you can quickly pose them, customize them and change accessories, which you can't do with lead figures. I'm playing in a campaign where one player has a large stock of lead figures, which is nice, except the closest figure in size for my male gnome bard is a female halfling paladin.

Just checked the official LEGO sight. Good god, their new Viking sets have wyverns, several dragons and even the Midgard serpent, all fully articulated. No more of the chunky brick dragons. And there's a Harry Potter dragon too along with a Harry Potter mermaid.

The new Lego Batman range finally has some decent guns, though you only get a couple in each set (not including smallest set).

My vision of doing a Lego version of Mega-City One creeps slowly closer... though they need to release some models with mohicans I have the Exo-Force guys for the anime hairstyles.

I used to co-author a website that included amongst other things, toy reviews. In one review one of my friends brilliantly stated: "When are toy manufactureres going to learn that toys AREN'T for children? They're for disgruntled adults desperately trying to reclaim some portion of their wasted youth!"

We've used Micromachine toys to represent figures/vehicles in RPGs before.

Hmmm, the Series 4 Dragons are due out this month. Looking at the Berserker Clan Dragon:

It appears that it is not so much a two headed dragon as one that has partially absorbed its twin - a Siamese Dragon of sorts. Tail, arms, head, all are duplicated, in whole or in part:

Would work well for a Warhammer Chaos dragon I should think.

But as usual with this series my favorite is the Water clan dragon.

The Gargantuan, Collosal (and Hugely Overpriced) dragons from WotC are due out soon as well.

Sadly, it does not look like many of the Pirates of the Caribbean toys have much use for gaming.

WOW. That dragon is freaking FANTASTIC. I dont see how WOTC can charge so much for theirs when you can get one that looks, IMO, better for less. Only difference is you go to a toy store instead of a hobby store.
