Hi all

I seem to have been working on this Gatehouse for days. It looks great, but I can't work out how you get the gears to work once built.

On my first gear that I have built, the stopper does a grand job of stopping the gears rotating both ways Surely this can't be right ? Am I supposed to bend it down or something ?

Looking for some advice from you knowledgeable crew.

Once I get the castle built, I'll post some piccies.

Aha. Thanks Spoo. I'll give it a go tonight. Obviously I was being too gentle with the model.

Out of interest, is the stopper supposed to be a double card thickness (i.e. cut out the whitespace on the gearbox after folding/gluing) or single card thickness (i.e. cut out the whitespace before folding/gluing). I did the former which is why my stopper is a little firm.

Single thinckness, I believe. I suspect it will still work at double thickness.

Well, I can now confirm that (after complete lower half assembly of the gatehouse that the gears work fine, even with a double thickness stopper.

That'll teach me to lose confidence halfway through a build
