For a vey quick concrete step, you could always use the concrete benches from DNA's Mayhem Park kitbash.

Death Reaver are you doing the block (5X2) as discribed or are you just plugging them in as you find space? If you are doing a whole 6X6 tile board are you going to stick them down as a job lot or have them velcroed individually? Or maybe having two houses (the back to back) joined on the one plate, this way you could build up the alley with different styles of housing as you need them. It could also mean you can swap out a section of housing if it got fire damaged (I just wonder how and why does it happen so often with players?!?)

I just find that the 6 X 6 tile is alot of real estate on the table top. I would look great for a whole table area but as just a section I think I might go in rows of 3 houses X two deep. That way you should get more roads and you could also fit in more other buildings every so often. Very much like the out skirts of a city - office block or commercal center surround by housing then a couple of shops etc.

I hope tomorrow I can play with one or two houses - I have my back-up paper to work with, my good stuff is at least five to six weeks away.

I was actually going to use my classic size for a master-board 60"x60" (8 x 8 Tiled) with the total of two streets and a cul-de-sac with two alleys, Then I'm going to build a little bit smaller one at 60"x45" (8 x 6 Tiles). This one will be the slum, ghetto, white-trash ville.

I feel silly asking the Master this but ... Are you doing internals?

Ohh... Ya, there will be internal structures. Also I'll have a couple of them half burnt and boarded up. (kinda like a crack house) I'm having so much fun with this set!!!!! I also messed around earlier today with the siding and the brick and made a half/half. The Brick is on the bottom half with the siding on the top . I'm waiting for the prize that I won on the show (harbormaster) once I get it I'll be using some of the interior pieces for the inside of some of the house. I'm also tring to make a bunch of different styles of furniture and appliances along with some hedges and small bushes and possible some trees.( but my skills are greatly lacking for the most of the stuff I mentioned so I'll be learning as I go, which is kinda of funny cuz I'm in class that will be teaching all of this but that's not until the beginning of next year ) So if any one wants to give it shot before me go at it cuz this will be awhile before I get finished with all the things that I'll have to make for the interiors to be different.

Maybe Aleph could shoot you his mini chunk Hedge files to play with. I have just been ripping off pieces of Hollywood flats stonework to sit on the dark cinder siding. Have been making molding that sits just under the roof-line and I have also been doing window lintels.

I grabed the interior of the Apartment for the internal sides and might have to go HM for some more. How are you going to do your roof bracings? I take it its not going to be just a half folded sheet of cardstock.

Thinking about your half brick combo it would be great to do a brick building with the back add-on lean-too in siding.

How are you going to attach the structure to the ground tile?

Do you put your layers and objects in group folders - I have just started to do this as I am losing window and doors

Well the hedges aren't as hard as I thought they would be, but making furniture from scratch I found to be a royal pain in the @SS!!!! The hardest part is making the template for each of the items that I want. The textures I found is rather fun, but very time consuming . I'm actually drawing the items I need in my drawing pad and then tring to make a template with photo-shop which I seem too be greatly lacking any knowledgment of it.


I too am going through all the worldworks kits I bought and pulling out all of the furniture in them and finding which one go good with the mayhem stuff. Hmmmm......... I just had a thought I could use some of these and just re-texture them to fit in in stead of tring to make them from scratch.



I'm tring to do a couple of the houses in a T & L styles.

Yes I keep them all in the same folder. I found that out after I myself started had the same problem also. I save as a pdf. and then when I ever need to edited it its all right there still with all the layers. My main problem is after I get done with the bash the file is ungodly Hugh, they end up to be like around 13-64MB. I have no clue on how to get the file to go to 1MB or smaller like the worldworks crew does. So any tips would be greatly appreciated

I had the same problem as you about saving the pdf. 'till I played around and found the option..In save as options you uncheck the layers box which then it will say it will need to save as a copy. You then get another warning that your "save as" preset have changed. Next page to show has a drop down field at the top fo the page - take the menu to "Press Quality". This took my file from 119,624KB down to 5,330KB

I did a test print on the yellow siding, looks great they are larger then I thought (not a bad thing just suprised) which make me feel I should go for the 15mm or at lest true 20mm. Robby pointed out that 50% of the print should be around 15mm and I could do this by printing 4 pages on the one sheet - reduce both X and Y. So now what would I do for 20mm? Mmmm...

I'm still wondering about the roofing.

I also worked out that the cladding - the stripes would work on a 90 degree as a lower half wall internal - wood pannelling then plaster upwards from there.

I forgot - Upon the test print I saw that the A frame roof line is very sharp to the eyes so I'm thinking that if you count down three lines (using wood siding) from the point of the roof then cutting of the tip. The roof then will have a small flat at its apex, this will intern allow for a mini or two to be placed upon the roof.
