W-Mite I see you have taken that extra step, going beyond the cardstock. by this I mean the raised walkway - It looks very cool.

I have stoped myself doing this time and time again trying to keep "true" to the builds, but I know that I will see one piece at some point that will cry out for such treatment - for personal use only.

I like the idea of the wire frame scanning - I want to look into saving the build as a looping set of pages that can be accessed by anyone - like a GIF.

Pel your right of course keeping in game scale is a much better idea - after a round of work I again see clearly - stupid mornings.

i just found this very useful , this shows how SketchUp can be exported into a number of different programs - 2D and 3D. It also show the basic step you need to go through to get from SkUp to the program in question.

My life here has been fun, to say the least, so i haven't had time or energy to play with this yet. I'm not cooping out I have just lost the 'umph to do the extras. Sorry.

I'm ok with sharing the sketchup files but with low resolution textures and the word "Sample" placed over each texture. The problem is that the textures could potentially be ripped from Sketchup for those ambitious and "frugal" souls out there. It's either that or no textures at all and just the geometry. Because our livelihoods essentially revolve around texture work it's a bit of an issue.

Hence why I haven't posted anything to the Warehouse. There is not really any point of posting basic geometry simply because this is the easy bit - its floating the textures at the right size and angle is where the fun starts.


But its all good fun - I really don't have the modelling room at the moment so this is a simple sub. I'm trying to work out All Things Zombie (solo play) with this - will be able to generate some sexy action (money) shots!

What ever became of the Sketchup project? I've done as much searching as the forums engine will let me and I haven't been able to find a definate answer.

I'd be content with blocky low rez scans or 256 shades of grey for mock building. I'd hate for Denny and the crew's work to be exploited and hurt their income, but on the flip side of the coin, it's been a powerful tool for advertisement and persuasion for Hirst Arts. I understand the mediums are different, but the end results are just as desirable.

I have been playing with sketch up for the last 2 days and I had never used a 3D program before. This software is soooo intuitive that it was almost painless. I am a complete beginner in the hobby and I must say that my real cardboard models are giving me a harder time in real life than in Sketch Up.

Nice use of PCON! It is a great program that could be used very much by many here. I would love a way to encrypt the textures on the shapes in order to sell sets for SKUP

Lordab, SketchUp and your idea to use it for WWG build planning is right on. I use AutoCad for such things, and you are correct about SketchUp making it far easier for people to do the same thing. It is an invaluable visialization tool.

How are you going to organize the work so we don't duplicate each others efforts as far as the basic pieces of the model sets go?
