Shatterdragon

I gave it a shot and beefed up the portal modle. After getting done, both ways of construction are way fun to do.
But if anyone hasn't taken the time to do this to some of the builds you a re missing out on a potentual great looking build.

I know that I am kinda new at this but I am going to try and build like this when it is a appropriate.

That looks fantastic, especially the way the foamcore looks like some kind of chiselled or lava stone. Nice job overall, and really not as difficult as some might think, depending on the complexity, or size of the project in question. Hope that build gives you great play for years to come.

Very Nice. I ended up building one for the last day of the Festival - Parent's Day, and used it as the centerpiece for a hack 'n' slash. Foamcore makes it a much more substantial model. I found it easier to glue the Portal to one side, cut it out, then position the second side on the cut foamcore. I wish that I had thought to create a 'swirly' with transparency paper. I forgot about it until reviewing Shatterdragon's model.

I also sanded and flocked the base around the stones, so it matches the bases of my minis. (Something that I first did with my Ogre Pirate warband. )
