Denny, I'm not sure how familiar you are with Games Workshop's Necromunda but Necromunda is being rereleased this year, and terrain is an extremely vital part of the game, in fact you can't play the game at all without terrain.   Such an undertaking might be difficult on your behalf since it involves complicated 3d terrain, but it may well reap large rewards.  Since Games Workshop has only made a feeble attempt at providing terrain for Necromunda this leaves a massive oppurtunity to exploit an untaped market.  Usually for RPGs only one person, the game master, might need to purchase your terrain to use with their entire gaming group,  contrarily, every Necromunda player that plays Necromunda needs terrian to run games with, not just one person in the group!  That means everyone in a Necromunda gaming group could benefit from purchasing your terrain not just one game master.

That would be very cool indeed but I don't know if Denny wants to be the guy boning in on other people.  So far he's been the trendsetter.
That said, I'd love to see something in the Necromunda vein.  ;D

Now that I've seen pics of the Star Wars minis game I am anxiously looking forward to what Denny comes up with for Sci-Fi.

Dwarven Forges' terrain looks nice but limited. I want the best of a Star Wars and Star Trek feel. Fantastical Sci-Fi and pure tech sci fi...

Stuff for Necromunda would be great - mind you, any sci-fi stuff would probably work with it.

Here's another suggestion (hope it hasn't alreday been made) - how about lifts? A tower with a single open face and a lift platform would look great and fits in nicely with so many sci-fi movies. Slots could be indlcuded in the walls of the shaft allowing catch pins to hold the lift platform on one level. It would also be a rather nice entry piece into the sci-fi 'dungeon'.

The Sci Fi drop down says 2 and 3rd 1/4, i am guessing 2nd and third quarter, well we are half way through the month of June, to me almost the end of Second Quarter? any chance of finding out when the Sci-Fi stuff comes out?

Guys, i really wanna some Mech Warrior terrain. A skycrawler like the empire state, with a sci fi look would be greath. Some crumbles and a realy urban terrain, with power plants and some toxic garbage silos.

I think the issue with Mechwarrior terrain is one of scale. WW, so far, has concerned itself solely with 28mm and the customer base is built on that. Maybe Denny could put up a poll and see how others feel about it.

INTERIOR LAYOUTS:
(Note: I have read all replies in this forum and will endeavor not to repeat any previous mentions.)

I have to say that if it is possible I would like to see at least two different types of human (or at least humanoid) interior wall layouts. In most sci-fi there are those who can easily afford to keep clean looking, well lit, and well maintained interiors, and/or those who can't afford it or live by their wits and the seat of their pants, or just don't care.

Examples of organized, clean, well lit, well maintained ships, bases and stations are usually, but not always linked with military, medical, scientific, and/or diplomatic organizations:
-Imperials Ships/Stations/Upper levels of the City of Coruscunt from "Star Wars"
-Military/Medical and Diplomatic Decks on "Babylon 5"
-RDF/REF Military bases/ships/stations from "Robotech"
-Alliance ship/base interiors from "FireFly"
-Federation/Romulan ships from "Star Trek
-Medical/command/Stasis/Crew decks from "Alien"

Examples of ships, bases, and stations that are usually dingy, cluttered, dark or poorly lit, with leaks and short circuits galore, usually run by pirates, smugglers, low class merchants, mercenaries, or those who just like living that way (Klingons ):
-Millenium Falcon/Lower levels of Coruscunt from "Star Wars"
-Lowest decks on "Babylon 5" where most murders and illegal activity were carried out, as well as where the hopeless collected, and the opportunistic preyed
-Zentraedi ships/bases from "Robotech" (they don't have the knowledge to repair or maintain their ships so many things are run down or completly unusable)
-Klingon/Borg ships from "Star Trek"
-The ship "Serenity" herself from the series "FireFly" (If you watched "FireFly" and are interested they are doing a movie to wrap up the unfinished storyline left over after it's cancellation from the first season).
-Launch bays/cargo bays/engine rooms from "Alien"

I would also like to see some of the following if possible:
-Interior defence systems and security, like small point defence lasers, mini-missile turrets, brig or other containment, cameras and scanners, force fields and electrified bars on cells (perhaps once again utilizing transparencies)
-Windows and viewing portals (transparencies again?)
-Bulkheads
-Tech Consoles & viewing screens (communications, navigation, weapons, medical, scientific, technical, security, radar/sonar, video, engineering, etc...)
-Weapon, tool, clothing, space suit, armor and storage lockers
-Crew & Officers quarters
-Entertainment & recreation chambers (lounges, bars, pools, exercise rooms, target range, theatres, restaurants, stores, and so many other possibilities that it would be difficult to meet all expectations)
-Observation Deck (transparencies)
-Briefing/War/Conference room
-Kitchen/Cafeteria & Mess hall
-Latrines/Showers/Laundry (hey, it worked for Pubs & Inns)
-Storage Tanks (ie: water, fuel, gases)
-Cargo Containers (Varying sizes)
-Medical/Scientific/Labs (one idea is to use transparencies for "tube" shaped tanks allowing miniatures to be placed inside, would work great for stasis/cold sleep tanks, culture and study tanks, quarantine, and healing, especially if said mini was a creature/alien for the characters to engage).
-Repair & engineering facilities for ships/vehicles/mecha/weapons etc...
-Escape pods (launched & unlaunched)

EXTERIOR:
I would also like to see the inclusion of Ship of the Line Space craft (ie: cruisers, battleships, destroyers, troop ships, dreadnaughts, capitol ships, etc...) and station exterior hulls (the "Death Star"), weapon systems (ie: missile turrets (varying sizes), a variety of weapon turrets (for different types of weapon turrets (plasma, laser, railgun, turbo-laser, particle beam, ion-cannon, disrupter, etc...) also of varying sizes (anti-infantry, anti-fightercraft/mech, anti-missile, anti-Ship of the Line, etc...), launchbays, comm-towers, comm-arrays, radar arrays, trenches (like those in "StarWars" during the first assault on the DeathStar), shield generators, airlocks (for personel, fightercraft/mecha/shuttles, or possibly even bigger ships (the Dyson sphere from "StarTrek", or the massive Ship of the Line airlocks used by the Zentraedi in Robotech), exterior hull windows and viewing portals, bridges and outcroppings of varying sizes/shapes, etc...

Can't think of any more right now. Oh well! Here's hoping . Hmmm, now why did I all of a sudden think of Red Dwarf .

I really like the suggestions by Hisst_Ka, robby, and Andorax and especially TheAuldGrump's suggestions for industrial setting items which I could have used awhile ago when my players were trying to prevent an assasination in a mining complex. This also brings to mind the addition of robotics ...

Robotics
I would like to see robot sets along the lines of something one might actually see for exploration, industry, espionage, and combat. A variety of styles would be nice: blocky, insect-like, curvilinear, small infiltration types to large vehicle types, etc. Some of these options may require what some may considered more advanced but I haven't found anything in the paper-modeling world that a little time and patience couldn't handle.

<personal prejudice>
I am not at all interested in robots along the lines of BattleTech-type mechs, anime/manga transformers, or Star Wars Imperial Walkers, none of which I consider militarily viable even in a quasi-realistic/space opera setting (except maybe as target practice on training ranges). I've spent too much time with real military technologists to so easily suspend my disbelief in these areas, particularly since in some aspects they lag behind even current military capabilities. If others have fun with them that's great but I just don't enjoy them. (I also discourage Ewok characters; but if players insist, I've let it be known that they will eventually end up in a petting zoo -- or worse.)

More Modularity
I would like to see a more modular approach than was taken with First Light. While First Light was very well done its not my style of spaceship (just my preference) so I'll use it more for components and textures.

More Styles
Also, at the risk of being sacrilegious, I wouldn't mind seeing modular sets re-released but with different looks and textures. The First Light "well-used" look does restrict the setting in which it can be used. I tend to view fantasy settings as being a little more generic since they are generally medieval-based but I think a well-rounded sci-fi line needs more variety in styles.

A "stargate" imitation.

Looking at Chunky Dungeon and I note there are easy slide doors for it that slide over wall sections...hmmm...how about some of these for my FL set??

And maybe even better yet, how about easy slide wall sections the size of existing doors to cover them during setup changes? Would allow me to make a few generic ship sections that could be changed on the fly as needed.

And I really could use a Hanger Bay door at least 6" wide by 4-5" high and some tall walls for a taller cargobay/hanger bay?

Love the FL and FL:RF sets...Almost completed deck 1 of the standard FL and I am planning a second ...much larger build.
One thing I would really really like ...A broader bridge...maybe 5" or 7" that has a flat back to attach straight onto a corridor and rooms
Would make it a little easier to produce more conventional...bridge forward designs.
I like the current side mount asymetrical bridge..An excellent and very different concept...but without modification its use is slightly limiting

The more i think about it, we really need something for the Sci-Fi Wish list, the Alien Terrain like in the thread...

After a thorough search of the net today (ok, I looked at a couple of pages+) I have a need that can't be fulfilled.

I need an air car/raft and a G-Carrier!

Sorry, but does anyone find it strange that in the almost 30 year history of Traveller, supposedly 1000's of ships exist with with these items standard and though there are ships and figures galore, old, current and more coming, that no one thought to make these items in 25-30mm? I have several overhead standins, one plan side view, no front or back plan, but not one 25mm cast, plastic or paper model.

Heck, just give me a two part dune buggy affair...air raft top and a separate wheeled/hover bottom I wouldn't have to use. Time to spam the resin makers too I guess.
