Nice to see that WW is going to push further into the realm of SF.

The more, the merrier, if you ask me - I will end up buying your products and those of your fellow designers, too. From my popint of view you are not competing for my money rather getting more of it *sigh*

After seeing others SF cardboard products, I can imagine that your will be great, too and SF cardboard scenery looks far better than rival prodcurs made from resin. Cardboard just looks crisper to me.

I have no problems with product expansions if the demand is there after the product has been released. The problem I have is when a completed product is split into smaller elements, repackaged and sold for an unreasonable price. You as the customer end up buying expansion pack A, B and C for (insert dollar amount here) bucks a pop and spending more than you bargained for. In my books that’s "milking" and many, many, many companies are guilty of it. If you really break it down there are only two reasons for following this business model

A: You rushed a product out the door and didn’t take the time to finish the "extra bits"
B: You’re greedy and you think people won't notice if you repackage the extra bits. In fact you think they'll thank you for releasing so many neato expansions. If only they knew your evil little plan
The only time I can see there being a reason to follow this model is if your production costs keep you from releasing a large set but in this case we are dealing with "virtual product" so I dont see an issue.

I realize that this sales method does work for some but I wouldn’t feel right about it. I would much rather stick with our tried and true if not somewhat idealistic business model. Release a quality, fully developed model set with everything you need and sell it for one low but reasonable price. I think people appreciate it.

As for the different business modells: I remember that this issue has come up a few months back. You felt better about releasing a big set with lots of "dressing". That's what I would call the "Playset"- Method.

I am fine with your method so far (having purchased all of your sets so far).


But I am equally fine with the "Starter/Booster" method. When done correctly, it gives us the customers more control about what we purchase - I am okay with this, even when the individual prices would add-up to more than a bundled product would cost.


I have already purchased the other SF starter set... and I am satisfied. Content vs. price is IMHO very reasonable.

As far as I know, its not a case of splitting up a big set into smaller releases... the boosters are still in planning phase, if I am not mistaken.

For me as customer its nice to cut the waiting in half by releasing finished portions in smaller chunks. I know you feel different . But I for one hate the long waiting periods (although I know it is unavoidable).
