I recently purchased Bits of Mayhem: Downtown, but I don't have any of the other sets. Can anyone give me some ideas for bracing the building flats? In particular, I would like some suggestions for bracing the skyscraper. I think that I have seen some pics of someone that used foamcore for bracing, but any ideas and/or pics would be appreciated.

I use some of the offcuts from the bottom the cardstock, folded into a sort of triangle and then glued. This gives the walls a nice brace and cuts down on the paper I throw away. Other than that, I've used lolly sticks glued inside the buildings of my Villiage works set. They're really quite strong and pull it together nicely. Other than that, I think foamcore offcuts are pretty useful too.

I mainly use the cardstock scraps as internal bracing, like Mr. Blackhammer although I don't do the triangle - but thats a good idea. I save all the larger full-width pieces from tops and bottoms of tiles and buildings, and then use them for bracings of all kinds, including Mayhem buildings.

I use foamcore, all the way. Not just bracing. I construct a box out of foamcore, including a flat piece for the roof, then glue the cardstock to the foamcore. For things like inset doorways I cut out that area.

Result is flat sides all around, super sturdy roof, and the buildings can be stored laying down without any sagging. No warpage either.

I have made buildings without any support, and was never fully happy with how they looked. Thoughts about foamcore but the price per sheet put me off just a little. When the local Michaels put 20" x 30" white foamcore panels on sale for #1 I purchased a dozen and now I'm hooked.

Going back to Mayhem, is there ever going to be a '20-'30s (Pulp) Era version?
There are several games, both RPGs and wargames, out there including Crimson Skies that are in that era.
My son is considering buying Mayhem sets, but there looks to be a fair amount of altering that will have to happen to get the feel right for his games.
Because of this problem and another, he is considering other companies' product as well.

Last I knew, due to prior ridiculousness, one cannot mention company names other WWG here so I have not here.
Then again, the boogyman is real too.

Anyway, is there any plans or hopes to expand Mayhem outside of the near future format it is currently in?
Some of the changes would be simple field replacements in software that y'all already do the fields in.

As you can tell from my avatar, I am much more of a sci-fi gamer myself.

Is it just my current surroundings or are Pulp games (US '20s & '30s) including gangster(Capone/Dillinger/Bonnie&Clyde-style)/bootlegger(G-men vs. Shiners)/etc. games becoming more numerous and much more popular in the last 12-18 months?
Plus, movies like The Rocketeer and The Public Enemy, to name only two, seem to be making a come back along with stars like Garbo, Harlow, Cagney, Barrymore, Fairbanks, West, Flynn, etc. seem to be getting popular again.
Music as well - folks out West here are learning the Lindy and the Jitterbug, again to name only two dance styles, for more than just goofing around.
Additionally, it seems the comic shoppes are spotlighting the superheroes that came out in the '30s more, such as Batman and Superman to name only two here as well.

I do wonder if it is because the world is becoming as unsettled as it was in the '30s.
