Caveworks is still a WIP, but Firstlight is finished apart from foamcard basing it.
You'll see in the FL pics I have added doors around the reactor, as I felt that if it was a real ship they wouldn't want the reactor blowing up down the corridor, plus it gives a small engineering room.

I've also converted a Space marine mini, to fit in as a pilot in the shuttlecraft, and have the legs to do a pilot and co-pilot for the Bridge.

Wow, you have been a busy boy. Very credible efforts for what I assume is a relative newcomer to the addiction.

I don't do the SF stuff myself, but it looks good. Is there any reason why you left basing till last. On the fantasy sets I use, basing is step 1.

The Caveworks build is great and should make a fine adventure for someone. Have you used it in anger yet ?

One word of advice on the CaveWorks stuff - try and make more use of edging. If you run a black (or whatever colour you think is appropriate)marker pen over every edge of each model (often twice, once pre-glue and once post-glue), you will eliminate all trace of white from your builds and end up with a very professional build that nobody (without touching it) would know was made from paper.

Yeah all the edges on the CW need doing, but it is still a wip, I plan to do another board the same size, to widen the cave a bit.

The instructions for the FL build, states to foamboard it after assembling the whole thing.

Have Dungeonlinx and Shadowcore Prime to work on next.

Very nice builds you have there. I am looking forward to seeing some more of your work.

Nice to see another original to the design first light build. The caveworks setup is pretty cool too. Hope your gamers had a blast with both setups, or if not yet will soon . I loved seeing a pilot in the shuttlecraft. Looks like it would be great to play on, can't wait to see more from you.

They haven't been played on yet, and the Caveworks eally needs to be twice that size for what I want, so it's back to the old cutting board.

I have to take a moment to say your paint jobs on those minis are superb. I recognixed Johnny Alpha and Wulf Sternhammer, as well as all those scrunts. They look very nice together.

That's my main forte, painting, I love it, and try to put some of that into each mini.
Although WWG set building is coming a very close second at the moment.

Heh, I looked around your site a bit and love a lot of the things you have there... quality custom lego figures are something I never tire of looking at and your He-Man and Skeletor minifigs are really good.

Then I noticed your painted heroquest figures... I had no idea they could look that good. Mine are still all unpainted. I like how you incorporated Chunky Dungeons into your Heroquest maps.

Hmm, I'm starting to sound like a fanboy... lol. Seriously though, you do great work, and I can't wait to see more of your cardstock terrain.

I still have the british versions of Heroquest and Advanced Heroquest with the first expansion. I never actually got to play AHQ though. I once tried to get a group of non-gamers to play it with me... but really should have let them read the rulebook on their own time. The project failed, and the box has sat unused for many years.

One day I'll dig it out again though as I loved the sound of it. I just don't have a gaming group these days.

I agree that painted minis look a lot better... but when you paint like I do, it's tempting to leave them in their original form.

I found AHQ really confusing, and fiddly after the simplistic rules of HQ, so I sold it on, and stuck with the original, although the rules have now been modified to make the game tougher.
I do enjoy playing, but prefer to paint more.
