So, I know everyone would have been up late last night to see in the new year, but just wondering if there is an update to either the release of Mayhem Rail, or even the results of the caption competition which ended yesterday.

Hangovers methinks.

No hangover I'm afraid. Actually I've been trying my hardest to have DF1 and Mayhem Rail up for the New Year but there's been a few bumps in the road. Without going into detail (and pulling back on the old excuse lever) the last half of December was not a very good time for my family. We are all intact but the rough ride has only recently calmed down a bit. I'm trying to get these out before Tracey brings our little one into the world (any day now).

It seems a lot of people had a very complicated Christmas last year. Life always seems to have curve balls for you when you need them least

99.9%... that's almost painful to see. It's like the product is finished but the 0.1% is clicking the upload button or something I'm sure it's a little more than that... but the set is so tantalizingly close...

LOL Arabin! That's exactly how close it sounds to me as well

I can picture the scene now. Denny has the completed package in hand. He looks at the WIP meter and realizes it needs an update. He can't set it to 100% because he hasn't uploaded the set. He can't upload the set because then the WIP will be even further off.

So he updates it to 99.9%, leaving the push of the button for uploading still to do. Takes a break for lunch, and upon his return, he'll upload it. That of course means it will drop OFF the WIP, and become the next What's New" news item. Which means he's gotta ready a page for it, and put all the little piccys in place, and link to "Recommended" kits and all that.

Shoot, it's starting to sound like a lot more work to "upload" a kit for sale!

Seriously guys, no pressure

I don't mean to tease with the 99.9% thing but I do want you to know it's being worked on. I only wish it was as simple as hitting "upload" Then magically all the promotional materials would manifest themselves in some long Photoshop "action", the database and frontend pages would auto-fill the relevant information and finally a newsletter would autogenerate based on all of the above

Seriously though, it is a bit of a long process. One day just for the fun of it I should break everything down on the forum so that everyone has a clearer insight into the mess that is post-production.

Believe me, I do understand all the last minute details... I do web maintenance/content editing (not really design exactly) and everyone always thinks that when they provide me raw materials it'll only take me two minutes to have all the different components for the site created.

However, it's a good thing that even knowing this, I am really excited about the set and find myself taking lots of short breaks to check back here in case the release message is up
