Of course with my current fallout buzz, I'm beginning to wonder if Mars Station would be more appropriate, looks like nice desert areas (if a little red - might be able to get my printer to yellowise it?), and buildings to make a passable vault-style area...

Mars Station ground is excellent for the American Southwest... gotta love all that beautiful red sandstone... sadly it's just a smidgeon light to easily match my terrain, which is all a slightly darker red-brown (which coincidentally is exactly the same color as auto primer, fancy that and how easy it would be to paint terrain and all that jazz...)

As for the 1-Inch, 1.5-Inch, or gridless versions, each product page will list what it comes in.

Up at the top right, next to the picture of the model designer, is a section with Genre, Scale, and Release Date.

The Scale will tell you all you need to know.

I build with the 1" grid. I know some skirmish games are strict on not allowing you to measure during the game, but that always seems a bit silly since some people are better at judging distances than others, giving them an advantage. In Gangs of Mega-City One, you are able to measure at any time, so having the grid speeds up gameplay.

I do like the gridless version, but I don't have room for more than one type... so I stick with a 1" grid.

Even though I'm a lover of Gridless (plus it looks so uncluttered) I have found that if one knows that the tiles are 7"x7" then it's really a moot point. I have found myself measure half and quarter tiles by eye knowing that they are base on 7".
