The 1.5" gridded tiles are 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" square, as opposed to the 1" and Gridless tiles that are 7" square.

It's slight difference, but if it makes a difference to you, that's as good of a reason as any to pick a set.

Personally, if I wanted gridless, I'd stick to gridless...but as we often say, Your World, Your Way!

Big thing that the grid gives you is easy movement. Some games don't allow grids to be used, for instance, Warhammer 40k. But a grid does make it much easier to move a figure than a grid less map.

What I would do as far as deciding which to use, consider how big the average figure is. For 25 & 28 mm figures, 1 inch is generally considered 5 feet, so a 1 inch grid or the grid less models are the way to go.

Like Bob and Robby both said, go with the 1 inch/grid less models, you'll be better off in the long run.

Well I do prefer the gridless, but unless I am printing incorrectly the 1 inch gridless looks too small for the diecast cars I use. I will measure one up with the printed sheet I did at the office and check it out at home sometime today.

Could I be printing the gridless incorrectly?

Im looking at the 1" and 1.5" straight street section in photoshop right now.

Both sheets open up to be on 8.5" x 11".
The only clear difference I see is as Andorax stated:
The 1" grid and no grid are 7"x7" the 1.5" grid is 7.5" x 7.5".
if you are getting something beyond that, it isnt in the *.pdf files that I have. I don't recall a version change with SoM, so its either perception. (ie: slap a ruler to them) or viewing scale difference (make sure you are viewing both in the same scale or if printed a printing scale error.

Dunno what to say beyond that.
