If it's based on a 747, it could have alternative interior outfits:

- Passenger Liner

- Military Transport

- Air Force One

It could be a Masterboard showing the outline of the whole plane and the accessable interior spaces as 3D components.

A Mayham Airport set would definitely need smaller planes to be parked at the Terminals.

what about those "private jet" type planes? that wouldn't be 50"

and i'm sure there's a smaller plane that would be around 2' or so on a table/masterboard

The little green thing is a Sherman medium tank. both 1/300 scale.

I can't remember what the smaller plane is. the little blobs near the nose on the starboard side are a Sherman, T-34, Panzer 4 and Matilda, for scale.

I love the idea of a 747 model. Using it for a D20 Modern hostage rescue would be awesome.

My suggestions would be:

Make the wings and tail section separate components so they could either not be built at all or removable for gaming convenience .... builders choice.

Definitely make it two or more levels ... cargo/aeronautics and passenger/cockpit

Structurally speaking it may need more bulkheads than a real plane to reduce flimsiness, but maybe not.

Would be great in Movie Set style, (Main areas, with open access. Someone sent me a card model of a WWI Zeppelin in 28mm scale he designed, its HUGE!!! maybe 60+ inches (don't know, will never print it!!)
I'm sure if theirs a demand, these guys will come up with a neat one.
