I found out the hard way that Labrador's like Pro-Masterboard tiles...

3 sheets of foamcore, mounted tiles and a Skull Cove Skull gone the way of the dog food..

I however love my little terrain-wrecker.

It really isn't that bad. Yes the manor house, courtyard, one corner tower and one wall section were ruined, but Castle Works is the easiest set to put together of all the World Works line. Building a new one is not a big problem. I was able to remove the rest of the walls and towers fromthe board without too much problem.

I mentioned it because I thought it was funny in a 'could be worse, could be raining' (roll thunder) kind of way.

The second bit of irony is that I only glued it down on the courtyard a few weeks ago, previously I used the pieces in a much more free form manner, but decided that it was inflicting too much wear and tear on the pieces... It was the reason that I had it on the table in the first place. It would have been a lot worse if I had gotten around to placing the sand and flock down on the model as I had planned. (There were minor gaps around the bottoms of the pieces that I was going to use the sand and flock to cover.) As it was I could slip a blade through the gap and cut the diagonal strips that I had added to hold the models in place.

I was much more annoyed when the glue on my more recent models gave way because of the moisture we've been having. (How much rain? Well, the campout that I have been going to for twenty years was cancelled for the first time because the paths, dam, and stepping stones used to get to the island were all under water. And the normally placid Royal River was doing a fair imitation of a raging torrent. In August!)

The castle (held together with Elmer's Glue All rather than Yuhu) Held up for years, and weathered the rain without a problem. The newer stuff has been falling back into its component parts for three months now, with the exception of the few items I keep in my bedroom. (Stuff that I am statting out for a game, or am putting together.)

And with a new Castle Works a few weeks or months away it isn't even bad timing, though I was planning on giving my old castle away when the new one came out.

And the mouse is gone, I managed to catch it, and took it out to the cemetary and released it.
