Ok...this is a method that works, but I don't recommend it since it is far more difficult and onerous than the others. I like to call it my "Brute Force" approach, and it is how I do some of my digital kitbashes.

Using a paint program (I have Paint Shop Pro 8, but it *can* be done even with Windows Paint), take a "print screen" capture of the item you want to work with in Adobe. You can try for the whole thing at once, or you can do part at a time and paste it together for better resolution.

Paste the image (or several together) into a single image in your paint program.

Resize it and the page it's going on until you think you've about got it right-sized for the page.

Then, print it in B&W and worst possible resolution.

Measure, compare, calculate, resize, reprint. Repeat until you've got it the *right* size.

Like I said...ugly brute force technique, but I've made it work.

That definitely is a "brute force" method! I'll have to save that for last...

I did manage to get the "select graphic" method to work in Windows, but I haven't tried anything else in Linux just yet. I've read, though, that the GIMP (Gnu Image Manipulation Program) can open PDFs. If that's the case, then I should be able to open it up, select portions, and print just like the select graphic method in Windows.

Here's hoping!

Either way, I hope I didn't come across as too whiny. I think the quality of the textures and the models' structures are easily worth the money. I'll most likely pick up another WW set, as soon as I can figure out which one I need the most (well, I know what I need the most: SteamWorks, but that's not even in existence yet... ).

Just a little update here.

I managed to get an almost perfect print in Linux. I opened the file using GIMP (Gnu Image Manipulation Program), and tried a direct print. I fiddled with the margin settings in the GIMP, and managed to cut off only 1/16th of an inch on one side (my math was off, and I shoved it too far to one side). I'm sure I can get this printing perfectly now, since by importing it into the GIMP it converted it to an image, allowing me to crop off some of the whitespace. That should fix it.

I'm really stoked, too, because I actually get better printing from within Linux than when in Windows. And, knowing that I can GIMP it, means that I can crop stuff as I need, and print only what I may want at any given time.

So, any users using Linux that run across problems, give this a shot!
