I stopped into the local Michael's craft store today, and took at the Christmas Village supplies. Among the other things was a transparent, deep blue, rippled sheet representing water. It looked like a decent sized piece, and when they next have a sale on the things should be reasonably priced.

Because it is transparent you can place the World Works Masterboard sheets right under it if you want to either see the squares or to give the appearance of a sandy botom. Or just to deepen the water appearance by placing the sheets from the Maiden.
