First time poster and first time WWG builder here, so bear with me.

I've decided to build a warehouse from the Mayhem Industrial set for a pulp skirmish game I'm planning.

I've decided to use foamboard throughout; partly because I'm anal about building things that last - comes from have Dad that's an engineer - but mostly because I want the walls to look realistically thick.

I'm pretty happy with what I need to do, but I have a question that the hivemind here will have the experience to answer...

When using foamboard, is it better to print on paper and stick it to the foamboard, or should I stay with cardstock? The downside of paper may be that it will wrinkle easier thean the card.

Stick with the cardstock. It holds glue better. I tried using regular paper once and it was messy. Depending on the glue you use it can get saturated and tear on you when you burnish large sections.

I've been printing onto A4 sized labels and then sticking them direct to the foamcore - fast and easy, no gluing required.

Then again, this is more expensive per page than card stock, but I do it this as I'm using a color laser printer that warps the card stock.

1. The prescribed method is to cut the tile leaving space around it and glueing that on the foamcore. Then using the outline on the tile as a guide cut the tile/ foamcore out.

2. Now, one thing to note: Your printer may not actually print accurately. Often times (in my case) the printer will print the length of the image smaller than it should be. IE: a 7"x7x" will come out 7"x6 15/16" or 7"x6 29/32"

This becomes an issue when the 7" walls no longer stop at the edge of the shortened tile. This also become an issue when you turn tiles as you lay them out. That slight gap will grow incrementally per tile layed. Making a messy layout.

Because of this, I cut 7"x7" foam core squares. (or the appropriate size) Edge the top 1/16" or so with a black sharpie then glue my cut out tiles down centering them in the cases of the short sides.



So all that schpeal above leads to check your printer:
if it is accurate glue and cut.
if it is not accurate cut then glue.
