Xombies isnt even a 'real' game - its an amalgamation of games into a personal game system run by the author's local game group. It's not a game that is available to the public in any way - no rules available, not for sale, and no plans to sell or make the rules available in any way.

I've actually emailed BGG admins and requested Xombies be delisted. It's a frivolous entry for someone to post up pictures of all the terrain they glued together and brag about their personal game they made up (and won't share).

Just didn't want anyone spouting off about WWG being behind said Dog and Pony show. (I was suspicious of the "Game rules" as well, but it wasn't fronted by WWG. )

It is a pretty cool build, their gaming table I mean.

I tried the 'Zombie Plague' game that was recommended as an alternative. Great little game. The kids will love it, particularly the "Kwanchai" created mods and expansions.

Someone decided they didnt like Denny's edits and took them out, and theres now some WWG bashing going on in the "Whats the point?" thread.

I just want to post my 2 cents here on this issue. While it seems like your intentions were good I can see no reason to ADD to the games description. As of now it doesn't say ANYWHERE that WWG products were used while playing this game. It also doesn't state that the WWG products are being sold with the rules for the game. I also looked at your Conditions of Use for the products that are available here and I can't see anywhere that one can not use them to play a game (if so then what are they for??). I am not a lawyer but to say that you edited the description to distance yourself from the game is a bit off in my opinion.

I do think that you guys have a beautiful product but please stop editing the description to advertise your products. If you want to let people know that the terrain in the images was from you guys then post a comment on the image page NOT the game description because as you both stated above you are NOT associated with the game. The game is a set of cards and a ruleset NOT figures or terrain.

Also to avoid having your posts on the images attacked I suggest that you do NOT provide links to your homepage just state that those buildings and stuff were from the World Works Games website OR use the WWG account there and place a link in your user page to the website. (Which it appears you did, just don't hit the submit button 4 times in a row lol) Hell you guys can even create entires for your games as you are designers, right? I just think that you are new to the geek and it's community and that you don't have a firm grasp on the users there. Most of us hold it in a very high regards. If you want a direct link on the games page then I suggest you pay for an Advertisement on the geek.

While you have some valid points there, I think you are missing the bigger picture as well. I do not speak for WWG, but from what I can see, this wasn't about advertising their products, but protecting their copyright/trademarked products. If you look at the Xombie Attack page on BGG, it appears as though the terrain pictured would be included in the game which is being developed. A lot of games, especially board games, come with a board or terrain to play on.

While I agree that a long paragraph about WWG isn't needed, at an absolute minimum, that game entry should state that it does not include terrain or miniatures and is only a set of rules.

If nothing else, common curtesy should prompt Steve Lefort to mention WWG by name, but I'm sure there are also legal issues.

My concern was with the reaction by TMP posters, one asserts that the whole thing might be a sham, then another builds on that, pretty soon you see a whole thread that writes off both WWG and Mr. Larson. I thought the entry was great (except for that Eric Cartman style "we have this great rules set, and YOU CAN"T PLAY") feeling I got, which dissapointed this zombie gamer . I thought a simple "scenery is by WWG, not affilaited with us, but we like it" kinda disclaimer (the kind I put on every pic I publish that involves theirs or anyone else's stuff) would have sufficed. I hope this goes away, as the budding rumors that the entire thing was a dog and pony show seemd to have died down. Sadly, that Boardgames Geek entry would have been great if posted on this site. Maybe everyone will be friends and we will someday see closeups of that great build.

Considering none of the pictures focuses on the game itself, I'd say its entirely fair to give WWG some sort of mention.

As it is now "Terrain Note The terrain shown in these photos is from WorldWorksGames "Urban Mayhem" product line. (Please note that ANY terrain will suffice for this game and this is NOT an endorsement of the WorldWorksGames Products)" seems relatively fair.

None of those pics really show bits of the game except for a couple of standees and I'm not sure THOSE are "officially" for the game either. The game is very badly represented in the pictures, WWG is represented very well. Who wouldn't assume that the pics are of the game itself unless it is specified?
