It's a good idea. I also hate props moving about during play, but I use a different layout almost everytime I play, so it'd be hard to decide on a tile to base the bits on. For example, I might put a park bench in a park, needing grass, or on the street, needing concrete... on a train station, inside a waiting area in a building... etc. Mind you, I could create a few benches and use different bases for each of them... will have to think on that.

If you use TWO pieces of card under the tile, I find you can do a 3x3" or 3x4" "section" with a dining table and set or whatever. I'm gonna play around with different drop in units. It appears to work great.

2 possibilities for fixing props temporarily:

1: Spray Mount glue, never sets but will wear off with re-use.

2: Tacky Wax, used by the dolls house hobbyists to keep ornaments in place

Dudes, for transparencies, talk to any teacher you might know. They can get all you want (10 sheets should be quite sufficient for a bunch of builds, unless your doing massive fencing or something. Or just use the tiles, and if you need dual purpose accessories, try to use as generic a floor tile as possible. Its been a lot of fun doing this with Mars Station!

I had the same problem with the smaller items, especially those that I couldn't glue in some coins to add weight.

I glued the pieces down onto a piece of floor tile which had been glued onto some artboard/mattboard. Really makes things a lot easier but you are limited as to where you can use them (I will have to make another set for use in Mars Station, for example!!).

These pieces were used in my "Innana's Kiss" Savage Worlds demo on June 6.

For a game I ran yesterday using Dungeonworks Classic and props from P&I, for all the little props, I got a glue stick from Scotch I think that used the Post-It type glue. I ran it around the base of each of the little props as well as along the base of the floating DungeonWorks walls. It worked fine. It was easy to reposition things if I wanted, but once I put them down, they didn't move. In fact, at one point I was trying to position a miniature and I tried to shove the lecturn from the library aside and it didn't budge. When I lifted it straight up, it moved fine. The glue seems to be just enough to hold things in place against accidental jars, etc. without risking accidentally damaging something with too-strong glue.

Odd...I was just going to post this same tip, having just recently put together a sizable pubs and inns build.

I need to figure out some better way to catalogue all the bits in all the sets. It's getting really confusing to remember the massive amount of options.

We tried that on a thread here for props, but it fizzled out after a few posts. Those pods are great. I tried scaratchbuilding them from bubble packaging and tedious masking and spraypainting, but couldn't get two that look the same.

How about a "Bringing it ALL together PDF file"??

I'm the same. I've got a bunch of siegeworks and props I haven't gotten too. I still have some of both parts of classicworks to build. And I'm pretty sure Friday I'm going to start on Shellendrak instead of finishing them.

Does anyone every make all the stuff they've printed right away?
