Well, it seems I completely missed posting pics from the Beneath Parrot Isle and Lotus Dragons portion of the first chapter. I did far more work on the Beneath Parrot Isle portion, even custom-drawing my own tile to handle a water area shown on the map. The Lotus Dragons portion I used the Minichunk 1" dungeon tile floor pieces to create the map. I tried using the doors from the Minichunk set, but the players still had issues with seeing over them, so I created door floor tiles that look a lot like the map symbol for doors.

The second chapter of the Savage Tide adventure path starts with the players trying to chase down Vanthus who has gone to Kracken's Cove to set fire to ships to later steal their contents. The players arrive too late, as told by the plume of smoke visible a mile from the cove. When they arrive, the find they were too late:

Beyond the burning ships was the Sea Wyvern. It was far enough out that it wasn't caught in the flames. The Sea Wyvern will play an important part in future chapters of the story, and so I went ahead and photo-shopped the described blue wyvern onto the front sails of my <a href="http://worldworksgames.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=27&zenid=31da7604ee0280677ba74c9163281317">Maiden of the High Seas</a> model, turning her into the Wyvern of the Sea.

One of the things I've been working on is gluing the ground tiles to flat sheets of magnets rather than dealing with other suggested methods for keeping ground tiles together. It gives them a fairly good weight even if you didn't have a metal board to set them on, and almost works too well on a magnetic surface. Here's what one looks like:

A few questions if you dont' mind.

Do you print and glue to the magnetic sheets?

Where do you get your magnetic sheets?

Have you tried having the items printed directly on the magnetic sheets?

I've thought about having the tiles professionaly printed onto a magnetic surface (since pizza hut can do it, I should be able too!) but have not found a place locally. If you know of a chain store or a type of store I should try (or even an on-line presence) please pass it along.

I print on cardstock and use craft spray glue to bind them to the magnetic sheets. I purchase a tube of magnetic sheet from my local AC Moore (a craft store in the SE US) using their weekly 40% off coupon they mail me. The tube holds a sheet that is something like 24' x 48', I was able to get 18 tiles cut out of one sheet, 3 tiles by 6 tiles. The tube retails for $20, with my coupon I pay about $12 for it. So by far not the cheapest method, but it takes less space than foam core and for ground tiles, it goes together quickly and you still have a magnetic surface so you can glue magnets (off-cuts from the remainder of the sheet of magnet) to your other pieces to have them stick to it.

The craft store had stuff you could print on, but the cost/sq.inch was much higher than buying the sheet and gluing the card stock to it. It would be really nice to find a way to have it directly printed on the magnet sheet.

Ya, we were really slowed down by several things. First we only normally meet every other Saturday for 8:30-midnight, so we don't play that often or long. We also had some missed sessions due to my moving. To top it off, my players took 6 sessions to get through the first chapter. The Lotus dragons slowed them down a good bit as they went through the Gauntlet, following the trap and one of them was captured. Hopefully now that we're settled in the new place it'll smooth out and we'll zip through the 2nd chapter and get on to the Isle of Dread.

That looks really good, especially the Maiden sails. Posts like this are really making it hard for me to continue delaying my purchases of the Maiden and Skull Cove........

Yeah, playing every other can do it, you play about as long as we do a session, but we do play almost every week (heck we even played the night one of us was went to the hospital with a heart attack). We of course sent a card and stopped by, but the rest of us played.

Yeah my players blew through the Lotus complex and the Cove a bit (that took 3-4). They were in the Lotus complex for all of one session, i had read on the Paizo boards about people almost going directly to Rowyni and depending on where you come in you can get there with very few detours, and my PC's ended up doing the same, they had one little off shoot but for the most part they went directly to her, then high tailed it out of the place... Which means the rest of the base was largely skipped. Rowyni escaped, and the rest retreated and became reoccuring antagonists up till they reached the Island of Dread where the finally met up with the last Member of the guild... (they know about...)

I thought that looked a lot like the picture from the MM...
