Right now I am storing the components in a cardboard lidless box. When complete this may change *shrug* Won't know until I get to that point.

Thanks for the kind comments DI (and every one else). It's been a good challenge designing and building this. Of course I have no idea what I am going to do with it after it is built, but I will worry about that when the time comes.

Crenelations should be complete by the end of the day and so I will be able to stamp the build phase of this portion as 'Complete'. Next step will be to turn my attention to the story text.

After that I begin laying out the foundation for the next phase...

Ok. It's been long enough. I've FINALLY sat down and created my notes about this first phase of the history of Castle Duello. I hope Denny won't mind that I placed the location of the castle in Acraetia...

Nearly 7,500 years past, at a time when the Qaali Empire was at it's strongest at caravan leader by the name of Thieran Krell decided that he was getting too old to continue traveling the caravan trail and established a way-station on the caravan trail between Aeshur and Villago two main centers of trade in the central east of the Qaali empire. The location that Krell chose was a vast basin of an ancient volcano that had been dormant for tens of thousands of years. As a reult, the terrain was mainly scrubland with a large quantity of volcanic based rock (tuff rock). Also, unknown to Krell at the time, beneath the site he chose there also existed a vast network of tunnels and caverns formed by the flow of lava.

Krell's outpost quickly became a favourite spot for the caravans to stop and rest their animals from the rigors of travel. Part of the reason was for the location, and the other part was because the waters that came up from beneath the ground were especially rejuvenating to the animals of the caravans and just a single day's rest at the outpost was as restful to the animals as a full week.
