Hello, I've been following World Works Games for a few months and I love the products however I don't currently have the resources to print out the kits atm which leads me to my question.

A few months ago, Denny mentioned that World Works Games is planning on releasing pre-printed pages of the more popular kits and was hoping to get them released sometime this summer. I was wondering if there is still plans to do this and if so about when can we anticipate these releases?

I don't think that there were actual plans per se. I think it was something that Denny was exploring but ultimately the profits just were not there. I could be wrong though.

Actually that's not entirely true. I am just in the process of doing some backend testing in order to sell both CDRoms and preprints of select model sets on our store. We'll be selling off overstock of Chunky Dungeons (preprint) as well as CDRom versions of CastleWorks Ultimate & Maiden of the High Seas. We are also looking into creating a burn to CD option to compliment download orders.

We have a short run printer who is essentially ready to help us make preprints available for other sets. Unfortunately this is all taking some time to work out the logistics. Many model sets we have in our catalog don't really suite the preprint option due to the huge pagecounts required in order to build a full model. We have to consider how best to split large model sets into smaller preprint packages.

So long answer short, the preprint option is still very much on the table here but it will be a while yet until it is in full swing. I'll be sure to announce it the second we finalize things.

I love the idea of the kitbash packs.

Is it something that would be sold in addition to the seperate kitbashes?

Thats an excellent way of making sure you don't miss any bashes for a particular set and one I'd be interested in using in the future.

Commercial Printing is certainly cheaper by the piece, than POD printing, but requires you to carry an inventory. POD printing and commercial printing are apples and oranges.

The normal expectation is for the user to obtain the 110# cardstock, and color inkjet printer that can handle cardstock. They purchase a download of your product and then they print it themselves. It then becomes the cost of inkjet cartridge replacement that becomes the real cost for the user.

A POD shop generally uses a hi-speed card stock capable color laser printer at about $.55 sheet, with sets requiring a hundred sheets or more this can get expensive.

Comparing POD to commercial is not a proper comparison. Rather comparing POD to print-at-home, POD is much cheaper, faster, and easier for the end user.

The "onus" of the cost is on the user. Is $55 for 100 color 110# cardstock prints expensive? To WWG maybe, but perhaps not to your users.

Of course you still need to add your license fee on top, but this is automatically included in a standard POD purchase - so WWG is out nothing and this costs nothing. POD shop is required to maintain high standards and fast turn around. Setup is easy.

You do what you think is best, this is just an option.
