Is anyone offering pre-assembled kits?

As an old fart I have more money than I have free time, and would love the instant gratification of being able to play some spectacular W40k using these beautiful models right away rather than having to spend weekends spent in preparation. My hobby time is so limited that if I spend x number of hours creating my terrain, I would never get to actually play.

Not only that, but my hands were mutated in a nuclear reactor as a child, and though I have super powers and seventeen fingers, I am clumsy with scissors and glue and have a hard time with the cutting and assembly.

I'd do anything to avoid having to assemble and glue my models. I'm filthy stinking rich due to the insurance settlement and would be willing to pay cold hard cash to somebody who probably would do this for free as a hobby anyways.

Is anyone interested in selling assembled kits?

What do you think would be a fair price to pay for a pre-assembled kit such as Arenaworks or Castleworks?

I imagine an expert could fly through the construction 10x faster than I could, and simply box them up in a well-padded box for shipping.

My radiation-evolved telepathy informs me that the WorldWorks guys are seriously considering offering pre-assembled kits at extra cost, but aren't sure what a fair price would be (and whether the models would survive shipping).

At the very least, let me say that I feel there is a demand for pre-assembled kits, and there are people like me who would be willing to pay extra for them.

Hiya Lazy guy...It took about 4 hours for me to assemble the cryo chamber from Red alert...I don't think you could afford me:) My empathic monkey really feels for you though...

I don't think that WW is considering selling prebuilds. In the past they've tried selling preprinted sets, but that was not successful.

Now the focus of physical items seems to be gaming mats.

I don't know that WW has ever made a clear statement whether they are for or against assembly services. I know its been asked in the past. But all I remember was something about, if it made a difference if both the builder and the people buying prebuilds owned the WW source files.

On the other hand you may be able to find someone willing to build them for fee, like there are some people here who offer mini painting services. But I think that building is so time consumming, that in addition to the cost of materials, labor would be expensive enough that it might not be worth doing at all.

If I were to do something along the lines of building WWG models for someone else, I would first find out what model(s) they wanted. Then purchase the PDF(s) of those models. Then print up and build exactly the number of sheets that individual wanted and build said models.

Then I would charge the person the cost of the PDF(s), my printing costs and some pre-agreed upon hourly cost for my model building time. Once paid, the person I was building this stuff for would get a CD with the PDF(s) burned on it, all of the built models and any extra printouts I would have made.

Also, I would never build a model set that I didn't first own. That way, Denny is getting the sale of the model set, the person I'm building it for is getting their product and since I already own the set, I'm not keeping a copy for myself. But that would end up being pretty expensive and I can't see someone paying that kind of money and I don't have enough time to build my own stuff, let alone someone elses!
