Having already purchased more sets than I have time to build, I felt it only appropriate that I pitch a fit over the lack of 1.5" support in certain genres.

Yes, I'm looking at you, Sci-Fi genre!!!

How cool is that? Space ships, Space stations, bases....all scaled to 1 inch. WHAT?!?!?!? Only ONE lousey inch?!?!!? What happened, were they rationing inches that day? Didn't you have enough loose change to afford the extra 1/2 inch that day? How can you sleep at night!!

Seriously, being a 1.5 inch builder (I started building for HeroClix, seems pointless to go back now), I'd LOVE to snag the Sci-fi sets, but that 1" base means it won't fit.

See, for me, the upside of 1.5" is that I can use it for 1" games as well (Star Wars minis, welcome to Mayhem!!). unfortunately, the reverse isn't true.

Are there any plans to rescale some of these sets to 1.5? And, while you're at it, could you rescale Gothic Realms too? It keeps taunting me every time I pop onto the site (Neener, neener!! I'm a 1" set, and you only build 1.5. Ha ha!!!).

After all, it's Christmas..and everyone knows that Santa scales all of HIS stuff to 1.5"...

I find that half the time the 1.5" grid sectons don't work out for me anyways, and I wind up working with a gridless image and creating the grid later. This is especially true when I am creating transitional tiles. Also there are a few different grid formats, some are thin lines like Shellendrak, some are thick lines like Marina, and some are embedded lines like Hellworks. For someone like me who will often use tiles from different sets on one board, I find I need to take gridless 7" tiles and enlarge them to 7.5" and apply the grid so that all of my grids are the same.

1.5" is not dead as long as I'm around.

Here's a tip for 1.5" players who aren't 100% happy with Platform Command:

Obviously, the ground tiles can be scaled up 150% to make them work (either in print settings if available, or in Photoshop, etc.).

The walkways are a bit problematic with their 2" width, but here's an easy solution for you. Print out a page of scaled-up ground plates, cut out a 1 square wide strip the length of the walkway, and then trim it on either side with the Masterboard Trim pieces. They're 1/4" wide each, so with the trim, you'll get a one square wide walkway compatable with the set design.

I'm pleased to see that SciFi will get some 1.5" love soon. I've been watching the SpaceWorks series for a long time, cursing my lack of scaling ability, and taking it out on Packer fans all over Southern Wisconsin.

Anyway, with the success of the new Halo ActionClix (on a 1.5" base - neener neener neener, Lord_Abbadon ), I think it's a logical step to take.

My kids recently destroyed my printer (coloring pages killed it....COLORING PAGES!!!!), so I am looking. Hopefully I'll talk the wife into getting one with the ability to scale printing and I can adapt the 1" stuff myself. After all, I'm hopeless with Photoshop or GIMP (Can you gimp GIMP? Is that even possible?).
