I totally forgot to check the kitbashes for the Maiden before I started out... Thanks for the heads-up.
3D boom and Skeletal Masthead are now mine.

OK, I'm back in the saddle (so to speak) again and have been busy building my stern castle.
Here are my results. Enjoy!

The Stern Castle

This time around, I used superglue to stick the handrails together, because there simply isn't any sensible place to use string at the point where the outer pieces of the stairs join the handrail... but I'm satisfied with this result, too.

The Windows

Lots of windows on this piece. And a bit of edging in a color other than brown. Oooooh, the variety.

Mismatched Floorboards

See what I mean? The floorboards on the left side of the pic don't fit. not just because they don't line up (which might be my bad), but because they simply don't match color- and texture-wise. I noticed this when I tried to figure out which set of stairs went to which side of the ship. And after puzzling over these mismatched floorboards for a bit, I found that they actually would match up perfectly, but somehow they got mirrored during production...

Fixed Floorboards

So I copied and pasted that particular piece of floorboard, mirrored it and printed it on regular paper. Cut it out and glued it in place and - Presto: Matching floorboards.

While we're on the subject...

... of mirrored objects: Did anyone notice how this map of Europe has Great Britain in the East and Scandinavia in the West?
Notice also how I couldn't get the glue tap to line up properly with the floor texture? Try as I might, it just didn't work out the way I wanted it to - it was either this or the whole wall with the flipped map would have been out of alignment...

The Appropriate Solution

I didn't want a flipped map on my ship, so I replaced it with a mirror made from tin foil and a picture frame from the Shellendrak pictures prop page.

And While I Was At It...

... I also replaced the severed heads trophies with a map of Great Britain.

All Together Now

Here she is in her full (well, half-done, anyway) glory. She's coming along nicely.

Oh, and did I complan about how cutting out and edging the handrails was a pain? I did the steering wheel today...

Next up:
The dreaded masts...
Or a handful of props.
We'll see...

I have not approached the masts yet (well, not build-wise, anyway - I did cut out all the parts for them already), but instead did some smaller stuff.

The Wheel

Now this one was a pain because the cut-away spaces are sooooo tiny. But it looks great, so there you go...
Plus, more transparencies in the skylight.

The Maiden Mast Head

I just slid this one onto the bow without gluing it down. This way, I can exchange it for another mast head if I want.

Forecastle Ladders

Nothing fancy, just two ladders...

The Stair Box

The Stair Box Kitbash is a lovely addition. Not only does it look great but it also provides your figures with an easy access to the lower deck.
Again, I put transparencies into the windows - and I didn't even have to print up new ones since I still had the second set of arched windows still on the sheet, unused...

The Lower Deck with Stairs and Walls

I tried out a couple of layouts and finally settled for this one. Didn't glue the walls or the stairs down, so everything can be changed if I want it to.

A Fistful of Props

Just a few extra pieces to deck out the Maiden once she's finished. There's the dreaded plank and a couple of spare walls from the Maiden set, the row boat from Skull Cove, a few pieces of furniture from Shellendrak, and a handful of crates from ... another cardstock publisher.

Captain's Quarters

Not the final word on this, but a nice set-up anyway...

Next up: The masts!
(Now that I have all those other things done, I'm running out of excuses not to build them! )

Very pretty! I thought the captain deserved a real bed and some chairs that are worth their name ... really like how your build is proceeding!

As I said: Your kitbash is very cool, useful and looking absolutely gorgeous.
I love it, and therefore I included it in my build. And since it is easy to put together, there was no stopping me from putting it in right away.

Still no masts.

Not only did I not build the masts, I also actually MADE UP an excuse not to do so. See, I had this idea about bunk beds, and since there were none available, I had to make them myself...

As promised, I did the masts!

OK, they're not 100% finished (still missing the yardarms and sails), but still...

As you can see in the pic, I need to apply the ratline extensions in some places, but that will have to wait until tomorrow.

Didn't have nearly as much time as I would've liked today, hence I'm not done with the yardarms. I do have most of my sails ready for mounting though, so not all is lost.

But since showing unmounted sails is a bit dull, you'll have to wait a bit longer.
I'll give you your dosage of new pictures as soon as I can manage...

Now the yardarms are done and the sails are mounted.
As you can see, I grabbed the Vulture kitbash, too.

I have a few more sails lying about so I can change sails around. I#ll put up pictures of that, too.
