Inkjet or Laserjet? Which gives a better image quality and ease of upkeep, restock, refill, etc. ? Just wondering so when i go browsing printers I can price compare.

For most things, 300 DPI is sufficient. Some printer drivers, however, don't use the DPI measurement, instead using terms such as: High/Best Quality, Normal, and Draft Quality. These correspond to Most Ink, to Least Ink, on the printed page, which also means a reduction in DPI, or resolution...

You will get different appearances, depending upon the qulality level you print at. I own the CastleWorks Classic, for example, and I really liked the outcome of using Draft Quality, as opposed to Normal, or Best, as it gave it a faded look, which, IMO, looked better than the Best setting. Experiment, to see what suits your tastes. Remember, though, that the higher the quality setting, the more ink you will burn up, per page...

As far as the individual ink cartridges, versus the 3-in-1 cartridges, go, the individual ink cartridges will be more efficient, in ink usage, but may not be less expensive. I own a Lexmark, so the 3-in-1 is my only option. As I stated before, by refilling, my color cartridges cost me around US$8 to refill, up to five times, then I have to buy a new, OEM cartridge, as the jets on the old one, will be worn out. Cheers!
