I've got an idea for a church that will fit in the space.

But I haven't figured out how I want to do the interior. I'm considering making it 1 large room. Perhaps having some tall statues in the center room that would raise up into that 2nd story.

On the other hand I kitbashed a floor if I do it using separate room modules. I used the floor texture from Return to Shellendrak.


In either case I'm unsure how to furnish the interior. Even with 4 room sections its still a small space to have props for multiple gods and still let figures walk around. I think that I should take some statue flats and apply them directly to the wall without any bases. Other than that perhaps an alter and a few pews.

Well I've finished the hovel as well. I could have used a regular villageworks house, but I wanted to have some more variety. So I kitbashed it.

This is mainly the blacksmith shop from CWC. I know the stone pattern is very similar to the village medium stone, but the windows, peak, door, and roof are all distinct. Additionally the size is different. it 5"x3"x2.5". The others are 5"x4"x2", or 4"x4"x2".

I also created new corner braces to match it.



Anyone think I should bother making it a kitbash?

I feel like its lacking something though. Perhaps I should make some dormers for it?

I like the walls on the right... with the little foundation walls at the bottom.

I like #6. The shorter walls remind me of a bunker.

I'm a bit behind, I spent the last day or two reading.

I've done 4x4 walls for both of the right side storehouse versions. I was working on the roof and some flooring but GIMP crashed on me twice, so I lost all the stuff but the walls. I've got a new idea for the roof anyway.

I've also applied a slew of new doors and door covers so that the tower entrances fit all the wall walkways.

Other than that I've spent some time working on the village interiors. I kitbashed a cut down P&I stairs and stair tile for the plaster houses. The height is right but I think I might narrow the stairs to be 1" wide as well.



I'm not sure about using these for the stone houses though. I could use the CWU interior stairs. But I'm considering kitbashing a set of stairs that use the village wall textures. But I want to get this build done real soon, so I don't know if there will be time for that.

I went to make some signs for the houses, but I found there really aren't that many in villageworks that clearly mark what the buildings are.

Alright heres the 2 versions of the storehouse with 2 different test versions for a roof.



I like this CWU roof because the metal/stone? roof tiles look much more secure than any of the wood shingles that are in villageworks.

But which roof version is better? Does the plaster peak texture work with the stone walls? Or should I try and come up with some other peak?

For what its worth I prefer the less steep roof on the building with the door with the curved top. I also prefer the curved top to the door than the pointed top. Whatever you choose, they are both really good kitbashes.

Both are good, but I like the pointed door and higher roof.

But I would be very happy to see either one in the build....

Its nice to see we've got consensus.

When I submit the kitbash both door and roof options will be included.

In the build I'll use the higher roof, just because other suffered a slip when I edged it.



Thankfully this is the last of the buildings I had to make. Now to start on the interior layouts. I'm looking for any good ideas for the stairs/ladders for the two story buildings.

I'm putting props in the interiors and the hovel vs single family homes look odd. Because of the amount of ground space in the village the hut from villageworks is the only option for the single family homes. But when I place props the huts only have room for a bed and either a tiny table or crate. Which seems wrong considering the much larger space of the hovel.

I did have an idea for furnishing the hovel and the abandoned levels of the tower. I thought the floating crates kitbash might look like smashed or broken parts of crates when they were placed inside of the buildings. This is only partly successful though, they just aren't weathered enough to look broken.

Aside from that I've got 2 main problems for finishing the interiors.

The first is the stairs. I still haven't worked out what to do for all the houses and the tower.

The second is do to the way I houses themselves. I mount foamcore to the bottom of the upper floors and use corner braces to hold it. Which stacks very well and locks the levels together so they're always aligned. The problem: it reduces the room height another 5mm. Which means any props that are 2" high, I have to go and cut 5mm of the bottom. Its not a real significant problem. But I think I have better results doing it on newly printed props rather than trying to cut off my already built ones.

I finally finished kitbashing the stairs to fit the village houses. Originally I had intended to do a large number of stairs that matched each of the houses wall textures. But that would be too many variations. Instead I only made a plaster, wood, and stone version.


I used the stairs from the 2 interior works sets, and Shellendrak. The stairs might not match perfectly but they work well enough. I also kitbashed stairway tiles for the upper levels.

The last thing I have to do is come up with ideas for the interior of the church.

I did do another kitbash for the CWU towers interior. I'll post a pic of that later too.
