Just started playing this with some folks at Blue Highway and we all seem to have read the rules differently.

My take is that you roll to hit and if you do not get through their armor, tough. Your attack does nothing.

Their take is that every success is cumulative. If your soldier gets 2 successes and your tank gets 4 successes, that is enough to cause damage to something with 6 armor.

On that same note, has anyone done anything using 3D scenery for this game? Thanks guys.

A cumulative system would be pretty unique and would therefore probably be explicitly stated as such in the rules (along with some record-kepping method to keep track of it), so my gut feeling without knowing a thing about the game is that you're right, Kane.

See, knowing the game is by Wizards and is MINI based, my gut feeling is that their is nothing cumulative that does not include a counter in the box. I'm wondering if this is a hold over from their more sim-style gaming as they are old-school wargamers.

I'm not aware of any minis game that has accumulated small arms damage. They must be stuck in the board game mindset. My wife used to beat me to a pulp with games like Panzerblitz because she simply threw enough firepower points at my defense factors that I had to die. She had no sense of what should do what, but the rules allowed that to happen for years (talking 70s to early 80s). Not too aware of current board games that havent fixed that, though. Many offer lucky hits (on a dr of 10 on a d10, roll again, a second result of 10 indicates a round went through a vision port or something), most allow close assault, but generally, it's not going to happen for small arms to take out tanks. I may have to try to get in a game at the local shop and see how they play that issue. Havent seen the game since they changed from the original MB game.

Have not played the current version of the AH board game, but Minis is a whole different game. Very little to do with the original except the setting and name.

Exploding dice would be cool for the Minis version, though...

Hmm. Exploding dice. Did't they say the old pool balls sometimes exploded when they were made of some sort of cellulose? Back in the '30s? That would be an interesting (and fast) end to a game.
