fall colors

Any chance to have some mixed, since leaves on trees change at different rates? Some green, brown, yellow, orange, red, etc., on the same tree.

Could you not layer the colours up and use masks at different levels of opaqueness?

I don't know how to use masks. Without them layering simply alters the colors. The method I used to change the leaves so far is useless. I simply cannot select an appropriate area to change. Its to small and complicated to use the path tool and I don't know how to use masks or filters to do the same thing.

Ah... then it's time to bring in DR999! Also you you should look for some tuts on this topic as it is a main feature. Personally I haven't the foggest on using the masking tool yet so I'm in the same boat as you.

I got a new camera, Canon powershot A590. So I decided to take some test shots before I waded through the 200 page manual. This is done on the camera's automatic setting then cropped and scaled down 50%. I don't even think its on macro. I'm pretty pleased with it.

Anyway, heres some of my custom printed trees from the kitbash. The 75% boost to contrast and brightness I used on the ground tiles doesn't work right for all the tree. So I've got to play around with it some more.

The work that you have done is very good. I like the variety of colors. They me would come very well for my new set. When you manage to equalize the color of the bases of some models it will be a great kitbash.

PD:That casuality. Your you have bought a new camera ... and I will buy it today or tomorrow. Mine broke last night while I take a few photos of my Watch tower... :cry:

I got a request for fall bushes. So I've been working on it. But for some reason I cannot get them to change colors like the trees did.

This is the best I could get. The yellow is ok, but its not a good red or orange.

On the other hand I'm thinking of using them as flowering summer bushes.

Those shrubs look great, LD. I could see putting them around in a park or suburban setting. They'd make an excellent addition to the KB section.

I played with it some more and got some fallish colors:

These colors are a bit off. The real ones are brighter more orange and more red. I did this low dpi sample page and they faded a bit. I'll post a better pic at some point.

The key is too turn down the leaf brightness before altering the colors. Now I need to figure out how to do brown.

I also got some blue ones that might work in a sci-fi setting. Although the grass might also need to be changed for that.

Well I've sent in the fall trees kitbash. Because of the number of trees, each of which takes a full page, I had to make it 2 bashes. The fall trees I has # 3, 4, 5, 7. Fall trees II has #1, 2, 6, 8.

I've also been working on the bushes. Heres 9 of the 10 colors that I think are going to be submitted.

). Got it. This is an excellent kitbash, LD. I love the color variation of the leaves. I was working on the masterboard for my Shellendrak build last night. This trees are really gonna make the grounds look good. Great job and thanks, Andorax, for getting this bash posted posted so fast.
