Should you look at adding a hinterland rock structure to the underside of the portal? Use it like you would a normal set of wrapping walls but then fold it in under the portal to give the look of ground ripped up out of the earth.

I keep playing with the idea of doing that on a large scale for a floating castle.

The last test before join all together. The fishing line looks work fine supporting the model´s weight...So im ready to build all the set tomorrow...

Very nice. I really like the waterfall island. Suspending them between chairs is cool.

This is one of the cooler projects that has been done it sometime around here - Sweet going!

How robust is it for play?

Just for fun you might want to play around with some white glue (small amounts) and Static grass &/ Flock. This will add a great amount of visual depth fast and with ease plus it just might break up the flat planes that comes with cardstock builds.

Trust me it looks fantastic as it... but that extra touch is taking it to the next level.



Please ignore the white edge under the static grass in the lower right corner - it is texture paste that I was trying out to see if it would hide the foam core's core. It does nicely but I forgot colour it in before hitting out with the glue (with this test piece I used my uhu glue for the grass but I am no actively playing with this)
