Buy this model set, help a kid with cancer! http://www.worldworksgames.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=268

Mayhem: Urban Grind

File Size = 34.5MB

On Christmas eve, 2006 our family ran headlong into dark waters. My sister’s 8 year old son Chase Ripper was rushed to the hospital and shortly thereafter diagnosed with ALL Leukemia. Chase is now undergoing a second round of treatment to fend off lingering cancer cells.

Coming to my families aid, the crew here at WorldWorksGames pulled together in order to create a terrain set dedicated to Chase Ripper and family. The proceeds of which will go directly into Chase’s trust fund, to help offset some of the costs associated with 24/7 care over a period of many months. Every little bit helps in this fight and we won’t stop diverting money from this set until the crisis is over. Once that happens we’ll feed remaining sums into another cancer charity.

My heart swells with pride knowing that I’m working with such genuine people. People willing to throw aside everything for a relative stranger in need. I would like to personally thank the following contributors who made this incredible gift possible:

* Scott Ried for creating the amazing textures within this set and bringing his knowledge of all things “skater” to the table.
* Matt Lyon for applying his geometric wizardry to the various elements.
* Alberto Silva for illustrating some deeply inspired standees and game elements (no one does better standees than Alberto).
* Bob Cooper for designing a fully functional minigame, creating instructions, promotional photos, keeping things on track/ cohesive with production and generally helping me in a time of chaos.
* And to the rest of the WWG crew who were supportive in every way they could be during this process.

Of course, gigantic thanks are in order to all of you who have purchased this modelset or spread the word about it. I am in your debt and my family can never amply thank you for your support.

Denny Unger

Adding it to the cart as I type.

Great to see it out..... esp. before Matt's next 70% completed set.

Buying it now. I'm glad to help out. I hate to see this happen to anybody, but especially not a kid.

I'd have paid $15 for this set, $10 is a steal.

Be well.

Bought. May Chase come through this with flying colors. I am sure he has taught everyone in the family a few lessons about grace under fire, because in my experience, kids do that. For all of you who are caring for him, may you find peace, and know that the love you have shown him will be reflected back to you. Cancer is eminently CURABLE these days and it certainly sounds like his doctors are doing everything possible. My thoughts and prayers are with Chase and with all of you.

Becky

Thought this was going to be a donate type purchase system. $10 is way to little to be paying for such a worthy cause.

Of course I guess I could just buy a bunch of them.

I had issues setting it up within the store framework that way. We also need to keep an accurate track of things for the donation process so this was the easiest path forward. I had to settle for a donation price that was something I felt was affordable instead.

The "quantity box" is open though so you can add as many units as you like Smile

Its not something I would want anyone to go through. Its been a real eye opener. Chase has a great spirit and lots of love being thrown his way. He's got everything going for him. The rest is really up to his body.

Copied the release announcement to my site.

Have you thought about opening a paypal account for donations as well? It is pretty painless to trasfer funds from a paypal account to a bank account. The only real hassel is having to wait 3-5 days for the transaction to clear. But you would have a full account of where and when the money came from and how much.

I'm downloading this at the moment. Only five minutes to go. As soon as it's finished I'll go plug it on the Forum Of Doom.

I agree with Highland Piper, an account for donations is a good idea. Even in a time of credit crunch you should get something.

My hopes and thoughts are with Chase and his family at this time.

Done. Having spent much time on a ward with leukemia patients (when I was struck with aplastic anemia), I know what a tough disease this is to deal with. Best of luck and well wishes to Chase and his family.

I just wanted to say thanks again to everyone who donated to this cause. Many of you were beyond generous and many bought the set multiple times. Chase and family were touched that so many complete strangers would help them get through these troubled waters.

This community never ceases to amaze me. One of the best forum groups I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with.

Thanks all.
