After defeating the challenges of the Blind Beholder, the party learned of a plot to drop a floating dwarven mountain on top of their home-city. They were able to fly a sky boat up to the floating mountain, and found quick evidence of a small-scale invasion along the passage to the mountain's heart:



The invading hobgoblins had left sentries in the long, ascending tunnel to slow down reinforcements while they assaulted the mountain's powersource. They were basically a roadbump, but they cost the party precious time.



The party reached the Great Gates, to find them hammered open and a hill giant lying dead at their base.



The hobgoblins had already taken the chamber, and quickly arrayed a defence against reinforcements while their leaders shut down the heart. The Heart was a portal to the Plane of Fire, visible to the left. The leader was in the process of shutting down one of the magic circles powering the gate. Shutting down all four would make the mountain fall from the sky.



This is the largest picture I have of the set. The Gates are to the right. By far, this was the biggest set I'd attempted to make with Worldworks.

This is the final shot, as the party has almost cleared the chamber. The portal destablized as the hobgoblin leader shut the Magic Circles down, and a large fire elemental popped through. However, party has a spirit shaman and they got rid of it quickly. You can see it off the side of the board.

Thats a nice big layout. I love the dungeonlinx perspective tiles. Its so convenient to be able to forgo walls.


Nice scenario too. It reminds me off Gloriar's actual floating islands build.
