Okay, I've tested it. And vinyl tile isn't strong enough to work. Wood or metal maybe, but I'm not going to be testing those. Because the removable poster gum does work.





Its even strong enough to hold it on upside down, briefly. Its completely removable and reusable. And I get it at the dollar store. I really cannot recommend it enough.

Now the brace itself needs refining. I need to pick lighter squares of tile, and I need more wall textures so it merges better.

Maybe I'll do a corner version too. 1 tile inside and 3 outside in the shape of an L.

I had a slap myself in the head moment today. Instead of creating wall sections with bases to give something to apply the gum, I can just stick a bit of the gum to the bottom of the walls. It does keep them from sliding, and straight and will even hold them on upside down.



I even had an idea to hide the yellow gum. I'm thinking of taking a hole punch to a bunch of black or gray paper. Then I could take the little circles and apply them to the gum at the bases. That should largely cover all the yellow. I just don't have any black paper laying around.

Its worth trying.
