I decided to start with Deadly Encounters for reasons in a different thread. BTW, I had to order the office glue pens as I could not find them at all. I went to 2 different Micheal's, a Joanne's Fabrics, and some family owned place run by a scary old women with 9 fingers (don't ask). Anyways, while I wait for that order to come in I needed something to do, so I started printing out DE only to find I was out of white 110lb (this was last night). So I broke out the light-gray I use for character sheets (card stock because it is sturdy, and light-gray because it doesn't show the erasure marks as badly, and we all know how much character sheets get erased). I expected the grass to come out a spooky gray-green color and I was right. The portal came out a bit darker then I would have liked but it works. I am picking up more white after work today and I am planning on building two sets of DE. One for day-light (white) and one for night time (light-gray).

So, to wrap this all up, I wanted to offer my little discovery (which I am sure isn't new) as an option for day-time night-time versions of outdoor terrain. Once the glue gets in and I can put this stuff together I will get pictures up of both side by side.

I've played with some colored cardstock, red and green. I was hoping the stone floors on colored paper would look like some tile, but the results where disappointing.

I'd love to see some pics of your printing. Are you going to post pics?

Crap, so I just realized that my printer was busted and wasn't using the yellow ink. I fixed it, but the difference between the two papers (when using all colors of ink) is marginal at most). I will however still post picture of the difference, the dark purplish (without yellow) is still very cool looking.

So I had these purple printouts for the deadly encounter pack (because I'm an idiot, see above for more on that ... though I'm not sure how no yellow means green comes out purple, but it does) and I am making them (for use as a night-time version) before I start on the lighter/green version (for use as a day-time version). It is considerably darker and so it is harder to see. I'm still pretty new with a blade so my cuts aren't perfect and I didn't want to try my luck with foam core just yet, so it is not based. Also, my hand slipped while edging so I have a stray felt line on of the the arches. The pics of the Purple Sacrificial Portal:

thats a better result than I was getting.

No yellow caused purple because blue and yellow make green, but blue and red make purple. No yellow so only red and blue can mix.

Right, so Green = Blue + Yellow, but Purple = Blue + Red, but why would the grass have red in it to make the purple? If you take yellow out of green you should be left with blue. Doesn't really matter. I do like the spooky look. Tomorrow will be Green build day.

Talae, I do have the bug, my wife's gone to bed and I had to stay up to do the Hit Top encounter. Granted I did it wrong and put the wall in the wrong place but otherwise it is fine.

How do you stop the felts from bleeding so much?!?! My tent looks like a someone tie-died it.

Bad lighting but they are pictures ... my wife was asleep so I couldn't turn on a lot of lights and I didn't have anyone to hold up a decent background. I tried the flash too, but it wasn't much better. Anyways, here is my messed up Hilltop encounter (in purple) with the wall in the wrong spot.

Depending on the shade of green, their will be a touch of red, just like their is a touch of yellow in most purples. Thats how you get all those nifty shades!

Looks good even with the "off" color. Hey, its fantasy. Theirs no such thing as wrong!

Use crayola markers, they don't bleed. To help with the ones you've already got, try storing them tip up. But they will probably keep bleeding until you use up a lot of the ink.
